Grading
• 30% Class work• 10% Homework• 30% Quizzes and Tests• 30% Projects
Work
• Most work done in class. • If you need more time to finish the work
– advisory– tutoring– home
• Students who receive a grade lower than a C may make corrections and/or improvements to raise their score to a C.
Grading Scale
• 100 – 90 % = A• 89 – 80 % = B• 79 – 70 % = C• 69 – 55 % = D• under 55 % = Fail
Late Work
• Students who are absent must see Ms. Levin when they return to school to receive the missing work. Late work from an excused absence can receive full credit if completed within a week.
• Other late work is discouraged but will be accepted with a drop of one grade. For example, a B would become a C.
• No late work from the first 10 weeks of the semester accepted after the 10 week report card.
Homework
• Given about once a week.• Posted on our class website. • Homework can be
– finishing class work– projects– independent studying for tests and
quizzes
Work Habits and Cooperation
• Students receive an E (excellent), S (satisfactory), or U (unsatisfactory) in work habits and cooperation.
• The work habits grade is based on quality of completed work, effort, meeting deadlines
• Cooperation is based on the student’s ability to work well with classmates and follow classroom expectations
Tardy Policy
• Be in your seat, doing your warm up by the time the tardy bell rings.
• We follow the Vista Tardy Policy• Excessive tardies can result in after
school detention.
Materials
• Pens, pencils, eraser • A folder or binder to take handouts home• A book of your choice for silent sustained
reading (SSR)• Colored pencils, washable markers
(optional)• If you are unable to get any of the class
materials, please let me know on the signature page.
