Date Claimers:Welcome Message:
Issue 37
09th December 2020
Once again it is that time of the year where you feel like you are not going to get everything done that you have to—report cards, grade allocations, room changes, final assembly and graduation. As I explained in our last newsletter, we are allocating 14 classes next year and hopefully our numbers remain stable and will allow us to keep those classes. Changes would occur after Day 8 next year, if necessary, when numbers are confirmed.
Report cards went out yesterday. Our Final Assembly for 2021 took place yesterday where class prizes were presented and student leaders were announced.
The Admin team would like to thank the staff, parents and community for their amazing dedication and commitment to ensuring our students achieve their individual potential. As usual we finish the year with great excitement. Our graduation ceremony was brilliant on Friday night, the children and parents had such an amazing time. Thank you to all who were involved in making it such a special night. The students looked so grown up and mature and so many parents commented on how lovely the evening was. The parents signing ‘The Wish’ to the children was amazing. I am sure that it was not just me who had tears in my eyes. The students were so happy that after a change in COVID restrictions their teachers very quickly got them up to speed to perform their dance. They did so well.
Our Instrumental students and Choir did such a brilliant job performing in front of the entire school. They were confident and their performances from the youngest student to the eldest were much appreciated by all of their peers. We were in awe. Hopefully in 2021 we will all be able to enjoy the performances.
I was so proud of our students who did such an amazing job with their student leader speeches. It was so exciting to see how brilliantly confident our students were and think how fortunate we are to have such depth of talented and responsible students. All of these students have their own individual qualities and have much to offer the school as leaders. Our School Captains for 2021 are Addyn Kaurila and Curtis Oates and our Vice Captains are Summer Christopher. Our Student Councillors for next year are Seth Homewood, Jonty Fratus, Jenna Giudicatti, Miley Sorbello, Danielle Holzberger and Ella Perkins.
Sports captains will be voted in at the beginning of next year and there will be lots of additional opportunities for students to be involved in other leadership groups including a new sugar cane project group.
Have a happy, restful, peaceful and safe holiday and a joyous festive season. We look forward to seeing you in 2021 with the expectation that the forthcoming year will be another one full of energy, enthusiasm and collaboration.

Farewell to our staff …
As we near the end of the year, we sadly say good-bye to some our staff. We thank all these lovely ladies for their valuable contributions over the years!
Miss Karla Srb, although she has not been here long, she certainly has made an impact and her students will miss her so.
Mrs Jo Zatta, our AUSLAN interpreter, has grown with her students and we have had the absolute pleasure of watching and enjoying the signing choir perform every year since the students were only little. Now Jo will graduate again!
Mrs Satu Dickson, for all her wonderful support in the Office and with the students, assisting Mrs Lyn Melvin (not pictured).
Mrs Lyn Melvin, for many years, has done an amazing job, enriching all students’ lives with her knowledge, dedication and passion. Ingham State School staff and students thank you and will miss you dearly.
