Whilst you are in the queue your ticket will be scanned by stewards. Please ensure that your tickets are removed from the envelope before before you reach the scanners to speed up your entry into the festival. There’s a large recycling initiative happening all around you over the weekend. Keep an eye out for empty cups and bottles as we will refund you 10p for each one you collect. There are recycling bins for cans and plastic bottles and compost bins for paper plates, wooden cutlery and food scraps. You’ll be given recycling bags when you arrive and when they are full you can take them to the recycling points in the campsites. You can also donate unwanted tents at the recycling points but we ask that you please take your tent home with you otherwise it will most likely end up in landfill if you leave it behind. For more information please visit readingfestival.com and click on the Green section.

A search will be conducted as a condition of entry to and exit from the event. Incidents of crime and disorder will be reported to the police. Entry to the premises will be refused to any person who has been convicted of an offence, appears to be drunk, is acting in a threatening manner, is violent, or is thought to be involved in the use/distribution of illegal substances or is breaching our terms and conditions.

CROWD SURFINGCrowd surfing is not allowed. If you crowd surf over the barrier, you will be put back onto Cow Lane, and made to walk back to the arena entrance the long way around.

CRIMERUN, HIDE, TELL - If you see anything that looks odd or out of place, please tell security as soon as you can. Keep your money, mobile devices and bank cards etc. safe. Ask the onsite police for one of our free phone /wallet pouches, they are waterproof and touch screen phones work inside them. If you lose anything check with our lost property / left luggage tent first to see if it has been handed in – we have about 3,000 items of lost property every year. Before you leave home make sure that you jot down your IMEI number. Lockers have a USB socket that you can use to recharge your phone. You will need to bring a USB

cable with you. Lockers are available to pre-book at readingfestival.com. Please read the Personal Safety section on the website, remain vigilant and keep an eye on your things and friends. Report any crime to a steward, security guard, your Campsite Zone Manager or a CAT member. A left luggage facility is also available in the campsite where festival goers can check in their luggage for the weekend.

FLARES, GAS CANNISTERS AND AEROSOLSFlares, smokebombs, gas cannisters or aerosols over 250ml are NOT permitted. Any found must be surrendered and will not be returned. You will be ejected from the festival if you are found with any. Being found in possession of a flare or firework at a music event is now a criminal offence. Anyone found in possession will be removed from site and could face up to 3 months in prision and / or a fine.

NITROUS OXIDE (N2O) AND LEGAL HIGHSThese are banned from the event due to their dangerous nature and you will be evicted if found with these.

DRUGS “LEGAL” OR ILLEGALDo not bring “legal”, illegal, herbal or psychoactive drugs to Reading Festival - you may be rejected at the gates for all types and handed to the police if found in possession. Taking “legal”, illegal, herbal and pyschoactive drugs is dangerous and can be fatal. There will be surrender bins at the entrance for you to dispose of anything that is not permitted.

CIGARETTES AND ALCOHOLThe over 18s tent is for all ticket holders and is located inside the village by Yellow Arena Entrance. We have a Challenge 21 policy and bar / cigarette kiosk staff will ask for proof of age / ID whenever the customer appears to be under 21.

Get one of our free ‘over 18s wristbands’ if you think you may be asked a lot but don’t want to carry ID. You will need photo ID to do this. Full details are on readingfestival.com.
