  • Welcome Letter

    Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to welcome you on behalf of the organizing committee to the 9th Annual Congress of the Lebanese Society of Critical Care Medicine and the 12th International Pan Arab Critical Care Conference; which will be held on 13-15 of October 2016 at the Phoenicia Hotel, Beirut - Lebanon.

Our congress will feature around 75 sessions addressed to critical care doctors, nurses, nutritionists, and inhalation therapists. In addition we will have two major workshops with simulation and hands-on on ultrasound in the critical care setting and difficult intubation. We would encourage you to register early for the workshops since places are limited.

The European Society of Intensive Care Medicine and the Société de Réanimation de Langue Française endorse this meeting. World-renowned speakers from North America, Europe and the Arab world will deliver our superb scientific program. This congress focus will be on updates in sepsis, ventilation, neurology critical care, nutrition of the critical ill, surgical critical care, and hemodynamics in addition to current hot topics like new anticoagulants, ECMO, modern management of heart failure and rehabilitation of the intensive care patient.

We are confident that the scientific program as well as the exhibition and the beautiful set up and location of the congress place the Phoenicia Hotel will make your attendance memorable. Make sure to register early and to share the details with friends and colleagues.

We are excited to meet you in our thriving city Beirut.

    Warm regards,

    George Dabar, MDPresident LSCCM

Pierre BouKhalil, MD President Scientific Committee

    Thursday, October 13th 2016WORKSHOPS AGENDA PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED

  • Overview

The critical care landscape is evolving rapidly, resulting in an even greater need for airway mastery among the critical care team. This practical airway management workshop provides an in-depth look at effective airway management techniques that critical care providers use in their emergency airway. It consists of hands-on skills stations on airway models followed by fully immersive high-fidelity simulated scenarios with expert debriefing, covering all aspects of advanced airway management in critical care. The workshop also teaches teamwork, communication skills during emergencies and situational awareness. All in a dynamic and interactive learning environment.

    Target Audience

This workshop is intended for anesthesiologists, emergency room physicians, intensive care physicians, intensive care nurses, nurse anesthetists, anesthesiologist assistants, residents of various training programs, fellows, and respiratory therapists.

    Airway Management Workshop

Chair : Patricia Yazbeck, MD, Professor of Anesthesia and Critical Care, Head of the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care, St. Joseph University of Beirut
