History
First airport in area was over the beach in 1920’s
Airport moved to its current location in 1930s.
Navy assumed ownership during WWII.
After war, airport was turned over to City of Daytona Beach.
Volusia County took over operations in 1969.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University was moved to DaytonaBeach in 1969.
Existing terminal was built in 1992.
