Goals 2019-20 1. Prioritize Social-Emotional Learning within the middle school
community to drive continued progress/performance while shaping lifelong durable skills.
• Schedule; Homework; Professional Development; Instruction
2. Develop partnerships between teachers and parents through proactive communication and timely feedback on student progress, performance and behavior.
3. Build on a differentiated approach to lesson design and the use of varied instructional approaches to meet the needs of all learners.
4. Improve vertical articulation between the Middle School and Washington School and the High School.
Grading Change effective 9/3/2019
• As a result of a discussion with 30 plus teachers last spring we made the recommendation to move away from (-) or (+) attached to letter grades
• Program Committee is supportive of our recommendation.
• 90-100% = A• 80-89% = B• 70-79% = C• 60-69% = D• 0 - 59% = F
Placement for the Accelerated Level will remain at 94%
Supervisors of Curriculum & Instruction Responsibilities
• This year, the Supervisors of Curriculum and Instruction will be focusing on specific content areas and articulation of curriculum 5-12.
• Greg will primarily be working with the content areas of Science, Social Studies, World Language.
• Holly will primarily be working with the content areas of ELA, Math and Related Arts.
• They will continue to work together to support PD, testing, and other responsibilities within the Office of C&I.
