Third Quarter, FY17 Newsletter NR NAVIFOR OPS 1 Welcome Aboard! The mission of NR NAVIFOR OPS is to support NAVIFOR in providing operational Commanders ashore and afloat com- bat-ready Information Forces, which are forward deployable, fully trained, properly manned, capable, equipped, always ready, well-maintained, and combat sustainable. Based in Suffolk, VA, the unit has a current billet strength of 49 members (26 Officers and 23 Enlisted). Currently 22 local Reservists (11 O /11 E), and 16 cross-assigned members (8 O / 8 E) make up the Unit. Welcome Aboard!

IA/Exercise SPT NAVIFOR N12/N14 utilizes

reserve support to streamline

monthly reporting of IA and exer-

cise support metrics and to im-

prove data collection processes.

Reservists recently developed an

updated tracking tool which auto-

mated previously manual calcula-

tions, improving accuracy and

enabling trend analysis.

IWO PQS Surge

IG Inspection Teams NAVIFOR IG utilizes reservists to support NAVIFOR / FCC C10F IG inspection teams. Pictured above: Civilian and military

The IWDC utilizes reservists to supplement their administrative team.

NSOC AFSPC ASOPS/NLNO utilizes reservists

to teach the Navy Space Operations

Course.

A NAVIFOR reservist is teaming with SPAWAR to assist with a CSETT visit during his upcoming AT.

Welcome Aboard!

Incoming OSO: IT1 Quito

LT Correia

YN3 Lyons

YN3 Lyons is joining our reserve N1 team; he is a for-

mer Cryptologic Technician (Technical) (CTT)

and Logistics Specialist (LS).

Incoming OSO: IT1 Quito Outgoing OSO: YN2 Webster

IT1 reported aboard in June. As OSO, he will assist in

coordinating reserve support to NAVIFOR. His back-

ground is Tactical C4 Communications, and he has

12 years of experience working with Navy Reservists.

Upon reporting aboard NAVIFOR earlier this year,

YN2 assumed the duties of OSO from IT1 Stokes and

has been a staunch supporter of Unit Reservists.

Many thanks to YN2 for his outstanding support!

LTjg Craig is joining our reserve N6 team. He is a

former Information Systems Technician (IT) and the

2013 Naval Sea Systems Command SOY!
