Changes• The oral exam will transition to all electronic

submission and presentation of images and records

• A diplomate who fails a computer recertification exam may once again take a computer exam to re-certify unless their certificate has expired, then an oral exam is mandatory.

• MOC- CME completed in December may be used for the reporting cycle that closed in November or may be applied to the following year. This applies only for the December at the end of a 3 year cycle.

REFOCUSING RESOURCES TO SUPPORT MORE RESEARCH• Developed first Collaborative Research Agenda.

• Implement hip and knee program in 2014; beyond 2014, expand agenda to other areas.

• Include key stakeholders in the agenda-setting process to ensure that the most important areas of orthopaedic research are funded.

• Provided more than $1.6 million in research grant funding and awards to individuals.

MAJOR GIFT PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS• Provided major gift donors with options to support

future research needs through the Shands Circle Society and urgent needs today through the new Visionary Research Society.

• OREF grants supported by the Research Fund include:• A co-branded grant between Howard Hughes Medical Institute and OREF to

support a medical student conducting full-time research for one year (HHMI-OREF Medical Fellows)

• Resident Clinician Scientist Training Grant for residents or fellows pursuing research with clear clinical relevance

• Prospective Clinical Research Grant to support a prospective multi-center cohort study on the outcome of surgery for anterior shoulder instability

• Since our founding in 1955, OREF has awarded more than $140 million in grants and awards.
