Youth and Student Ministries Activities (All students in grades 6-12 are welcome.)

Kids Own Worship Every Sunday! Kids Own Worship is a fun and interactive time of worship and Bible storytelling for kids ages 3 to fifth grade after children’s moments during the 11:00 service. A nursery for infants to 2 years old is staffed from 9:30am until 12:30pm.

Children can be picked up in the following rooms immediately after worship: 3 & 4 year olds (Room 102), 5 year olds-kindergarten (Room 103), first and second grades (Room 105), third grade (Community Room B), 4th grade (Room 104), fifth grade (Room 106). All these rooms are located adjacent to the gym.

Churchwide potluck for Andrew and Arpita SIngh

Everyone is encouraged to come and bring a dish as we celebrate Andrew and Arpita’s ministry at Georgetown First United Methodist Church on Sunday, June 10 after the 11:00am service in the fellowship hall/gym. Church members are encouraged to bring salads, vegetable side dishes and desserts. Fried chicken and drinks will be provided by the church. If you have any questions please contact Harold Cudd at 859-797-7188. We’ll have a 30-minute program at 1:00pm as we are finishing up eating with music, a slide show and a prayer of blessing. Please make plans to stay until 1:30pm as we give thanks to God for the Singhs’ seven years of ministry with us at Georgetown First. Guests are welcome to join us.

May 27 + Andrew’s Bluegrass Band will play in both services for Memorial Day weekend. This will be a casual Sunday. Wear your blue jeans if you wish. It will be a great day of worship!

On the menu this week at 5:30pm is Dominos Pizza, the world famous salad bar and ice cream. Kids eat same as adults. The cost is $3 for adults/youth and $1 for children. This is the final dinner until after Labor Day. Wednesday nights resume September 5. Growth Groups for all ages at 6:30pm. Chancel Choir meets at 7:30pm down the west hallway in Room 14.

Next Hour of Prayer is this Saturday at 11am

Join us this coming Saturday at 11:00am in the sanctuary for this special time. Whether you have a specific prayer request for yourself or others, come and lay down all your burdens at the foot of the cross. Hour of Prayer includes the reading of Scripture, singing songs and of course, prayer. If you would like more information, contact Pastor Andrew at 502-863-0173 or andrew@georgetownfirst.com. Vacation Bible School set for July 9-12

Come be shipwrecked with us this year at Vacation Bible School and learn how Jesus rescues. VBS will be Monday, July 9 through Thursday, July 12 from 6-8:30 pm. Men’s golf league starting later this month

It’s that time of year again! The men’s group weekly golf outings, open to all men, will be starting on Wednesdays when school is out. We need to know how many are interested in playing. This will help to decide when and where to play. If interested, please contact Daryl Jones at drj9642@aol.com.

Volunteer opportunity at the Gathering Place

The Gathering Place, a shelter for men, is looking for volunteers to prepare and serve a meal on the 3rd Sunday of every month. If you are interested in helping, please call the church office at 502-863-0173.

Bluegrass District Conference and farewell reception for District Superintendent Paul and Ellen Fryman

At 2:00 TODAY the Bluegrass Distrct will honor Paul and Ellen Fryman for their three years of service as our superintendent and his wife at Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church, 565 Carlton Dr. The district conference (which is open to all) starts at 3:00pm. Paul is retiring from active ministry after nearly forty years of service.

Our new associate pastor, Jeremy Arnold, graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary yesterday with a Master of Divinity degree.
