•APS between 5 and 5.5 minimum three and can do 4
•APS less than 5 study 3 subjects only
Clarification of entry requirements
Look in your option books
APS of less than 5 students will select 3 A levels.
They will also have 2 compulsory study lessons on TT linked to faculties.

The Student would study three subjects, as their average point score is below 5 points. In addition they would only be able to chose one subject from maths and

To take
• 1 subject - B in subject (or a grade 6 to do Maths )
• 2 subjects –B in each subject and (or 6 in Maths to do Maths )and APS above 4.9 or more
• 3 or more – B in each subject and(grade 6 to do Maths ) and APS of 6 or more.
When do you take external exams ?
• Those on 3 subjects take all external exams at end of year 13 (except a few modules in selected subjects )
• Those on 4 select 1 to take as an AS in year 12 .
Engineering is a two year course. If you leave it at the end of year 12 you will not have any qualification.

• Don’t forget to do this ….if you do you will be asked to do it once you arrive …not a good first impression!.
• The homework is also available on the website ….so if you have to make a subject change on results day ….look up the homework and do it before you arrive !!

Results Day
So what is Next??
Results Day Thursday August 24thFrom:
9.30 a.m.
What to do….
You have met the minimum and any subject specific requirements…..Congratulations your place is secure
Note all non Ashby School candidates have to confirm their place via bringing in / or scanning and emailing confirmation of their results
The process…
• Collect results
• Confirm place – 3 stations
• Concerns - make appointment for Friday 25th August
• No confirmation by 3.00pm Thursday no place on courses.
Change your mind on subjects
• Some changes are made
• BUT many subjects are now full
• These changes need to be made before you start
External Results
• E-mail scanned copy by 3.00pm on Thursday 24th August to: [email protected]
OR
• Come to Sixth Form Centre with a photocopy of results. Note we will not have time to photocopy them for you.
Any student who has not brought in results on the Thursday will be removed from our list and the subjects will be offered to others.
So what is Next??
• You have met the minimum entry requirements BUT NOT achieved the subject specific requirements
• This will involve negotiating new option choices to match your GCSE results.
You will be given an appointment for Friday 25Th August to finalise your position.
VITAL SLIDE !!
• You must communicate with the school as to what your intentions are.
• i.e. accepting your place or not… for whatever reason
• This needs to be done on exam results day Thursday 24th August ….we will remove you from our data base and offer your place to others.
4th September
• Ashby Students go straight to form rooms for registration
• New to Ashby Students to come to 6th form Centre for 8.30am
And now …….
• Move into the sixth form centre for administration
• Those new to school need to return to the Sixth Form Centre at the end of the day to get photo taken for new badges….these are needed for the first day back.
