Our team is currently looking for community

from their profits.
If you’re interested in participating, please send
Brandon ([email protected]) a proposal

Thank You!—A big thank you to one of our
regular donors, Foodsharing Ottawa. Through-
out the year, twice a week they bring us pro-
duce for the Supper Table dinner program and
good quality health food from local grocers
like Kardish Foods. They have been incredi-
bly helpful this summer. The health food do-
nations in particular help us better serve our
food bank guests with special dietary needs.
Meal Program Needs: Bread/buns, peanut but-
ter, jam, tuna, spices (onion powder, chili
powder, parsley), coffee, tea, sugar, Ziploc
bags (all sizes), brown paper lunch bags, olive
oil.
Food Bank Needs: Instant coffee, peanut but-
ter, sugar, fruit juice, canned meat (ham,
salmon, etc.), cream soups (mushroom, broc-
coli, etc.)

Rectory Roof Replacement Project Update Donations received as of July 15: $10,418
Thank you for your generosity!
After having completed significant
work on the church roof, thanks in
large part to parishioner donations, the Parish is proceeding with
a project to completely replace the rectory roof in August 2018.
The rectory roof has reached the end of its lifespan and leaks
have become a growing problem. Working with our engineering
consultants at the BTC Group, as well as Capital Contractors
Ltd., we will be replacing the entire rectory roof, down to the
structural wood deck, including the roof above the vestry, for a
stipulated cost of $68,000. We are asking parishioners to
consider donating to the rectory roof replacement project, to
help us in covering these costs.
You will find envelopes marked for this purpose in the pews,
with each envelope also including slips for those who wish to
make a donation using their credit card. For more information
on this project, please contact Christopher Adam, the Parish
Executive Director, at [email protected] or at 613-233-
4095, x223. Thank you!
St. Joe’s Women’s Centre Update—Spring was a busy but exciting time for the
Women's Centre. In May, we had our annual Inspire & Ignite fundraiser. The 1950's theme brought out
ladies dressed in poodle skirts and pearls and gentlemen donning fancy suits and fedoras (photos be-
low). When all the poker chips were counted, the grand total came to $22,000! Also, on June 26, we
hosted an open house to showcase some of the wonderful programs and services we offer. Community
partners, the Inspire & Ignite Committee members, and staff gathered for a lovely evening honouring
the Women's Centre and some of our valued supporters.
Coming up, we are starting the collection for our annual Back to School program. We are requesting
donations of elementary and high school supplies, including backpacks to give to the children who
come to the Women's Centre. Please look for the supply list posted at the back of the church for ideas
of what is needed. Thank you in advance! We truly appreciate the generous support!

Bicycle for Refugee Family Roya came to Canada as a government spon-
sored refugee and parishioners have befriended
her and worked on bringing her family to Ottawa.
After waiting three years, her husband and three children (a 16-
year old girl and 12 and 14-year old boys) have arrived. The chil-
dren could use bicycles to explore Ottawa before they start school
in September. If you have a used bicycle or helmet suitable for
teens that you would be willing to donate to Roya’s family,
please contact Valerie at 613-695-3923.
