Weighted Criteria DAR Evaluation Matrix

DAR Event Trigger (Enter this in C5)Decision owner shall document the event triggers it will use to identify when the formal DAR procedure is necessary to make required decisions. Typical criteria for triggering DAR include, but are not limited to: DAR can be used to develop detailed engineering alternative design and solutions DAR can also be used to address a make-or-buy decision, Selection of product components and features. Use of reusable or commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components Supplier selection. Significant schedule slip ( in conjunction with program cost decision to be made for additional hiring or re-scoping the releases of the program) Selection of organizational tools Medium to high risks or when issues affect the ability to achieve project objectives. The cost of conducting DAR should also be reasonable enough when compared to the impact of the issue and its resolution.Evaluation methods (Enter this in cell D20, F20, H20)Typical methods of solution identification include, but are not limited to: Brainstorming Question and Answer Solution Solicitation Market Research Competitor Analysis Customer Feedback Analysis of similar problems solved on other programs and their solutionsSelect The Evaluation Criteria and weighting factor Against the relevant evaluation criteria enter the wiegting factor in the scale of 1-5

Ranking FactorThe ranking factor against a particular evaluation criteria is in the scale of 1-5. Ranking will be low if the criteria is not going to be met. For example if weighting factor for cost is 5 and solution 1 ranking is going to be more costlier than solution 2, then ranking factor for solution 1will be lower than ranking factor for solution 2.

Final Solution (Enter in B42)Enter the Final solution based on the Recommended solution.
