Recirculation Coolant Pumps

The jet pumps are used to assure reactor flow and to prevent local areas of core overheating.

Typically a vertical centrifugal pump operating at 1800 rpm and 8000 HP.

Residual Heat Removal Service Water Pumps

Vertical centrifugal operating at 900 rpm and 300 HP.

Residual Heat Removal (RHR) Pumps

Remove residual heat from the reactor during low pressure operations (shutdowns and refueling outages).

Vertical centrifugal pumps operating at 1800 rpm and 900 HP.

High Pressure Core Spray Pumps

Part of the emergency core cooling system. Vertical centrifugal pump operating at 1800 rpm and 3000 HP.

Low Pressure Core Spray Pumps
