Fundraising Ideas Needed!Fundraising Ideas Needed!Fundraising Ideas Needed!Fundraising Ideas Needed!

The Friends of the Weeks Public Library would like to add some new ideas to its fundraising repertoire. Our annual Plant and Bake Sale has provided the majority of our funds for several years now. Other recent fundraisers include: raf-fles for gift baskets, ink cartridge collection/return, and the selling of candles, honey, jelly and flowering bulbs. We’ve even added ways for you to contribute with no additional costs to you. These two pro-grams, the Shaw’s Rewards program and Char-ity Blast provide funds to the Friends based on your purchases at specific merchants. Just by purchasing your weekly groceries or ordering items online the Friends receive additional funds. See the library website for details on both of these programs. The money that the Friends of the Library re-ceive is used to pay for museum passes, book rentals, special library requests, summer library programs, holiday events and refreshments for various library programs. The Friends welcome any fundraising ideas that you would like to share. We also invite you to help us in our fundraising efforts, to whatever extent feels comfortable for you. If you would like to provide fundraising ideas to the Friends, and/or inquire about attending a monthly Friends meeting, please send an email to [email protected], or call the library at 603-436-8548. The next meeting is Monday, January 11 at 7pm. Hope to see you there.

The Trustees and staff thank all the volunteers that have helped at the library in 2009. Volunteers of all ages helped at programs, thawed an ice dam, raked and picked up leaves, processed materials, folded newsletters, installed driveway markers. shelved re-turned items, hauled trash, repaired the book drop, fixed water pipes, insulated the basement door, con-structed an exit sign, repaired book bins, dusted, trimmed bushes, transported book storage units, and other such special tasks.

At this time, we would like to thank John Mellin for his assistance with trash removal these past few years. As John leaves our volunteer program, we just wanted to let him know how very much we appreci-ated every trip he made to the transfer station for us.

Thank you John!Thank you John!Thank you John!Thank you John!
