Welcome to worship at WFMC! Here are some helpful notes if you are new.

THE COMMUNICATION CARD is key to allowing us to welcome you fully. Please fill it out and drop it in the gold box after worship. We won’t harass you,

but we’d love to send a welcoming note.

THE WORSHIP GUIDE in this folder leads through our service. We try to use elements, liturgy, music and sacraments from a variety of Christian traditions to help lead people of all ages, stages, and tastes into God’s presence. Worship is participatory, so please join in prayer, word, giving, and song.

PRAYER FOCUS: Let’s pray for our children and youth ministry areas and leaders—and participants. Pray for strong and enduring faith to be built into our children and for wisdom for them to live faithfully with Jesus.

WORLD MISSION FOCUS—UKRAINE: Pray for Brent & Colleen Weaver who are serving in Kiev, focusing on discipleship. Brent works with young adults and Colleen in theological education.

HOME MISSION FOCUS: Pray for the Wilmore-Highbridge Community Center, the director Koby Miller, and all who receive help with utility payments.

YOUTH MINISTRY FOCUS: Pray for the youth activities of the church. Pray for the teens as they get into the more challenging parts of school with quizzes, tests, and college placement tests. Pray for teens going through the driving permit and license processes. And pray for the general anxiety that many teens face in these uncertain times.

CONGRATULATIONS TO CHRIS JOHNSON and her 8 year-old son Caiden Johnson, whose adoption became official July 27, 2021.

THANK YOU DEAR CHURCH for walking along side our family through the weeks and days of losing our mother, grandmother, Millie Hall. Your cards, calls, visits, delicious food that you shared told us of your love for Millie and each of us. We can only imagine what she is seeing now! - Barry & Fran May

PRAYER COMMITMENT REMINDER: It’s not too late to sign up to be involved in the multiple prayer opportunities at WFMC. Be sure to stop by the Welcome Center and pick up the Prayer Commitment Sheet, fill it out, and leave it in the offering box. ~ Your WFMC Prayer Team

WFMC MEMBERSHIP CLASS: Mark your calendar for the next Member-ship Class October 2, a Saturday seminar 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Interested in attending? Write “Membership” on the Communication Card. The class gives a comprehensive introduction to our church, denomination, and beliefs. Come and investigate - no commitment is required to simply take the class.

THOUGH THESE ARE CHALLENGING DAYS, there is no reason for despair. Our hope always rests in God. What ways might we partner with him for revival? One tangible response to that question is Praying Through, one night a week of continuous prayer, seeking God for His mercy and genuine revival. A participant would commit to a one half-hour block of time on the night selected, praying at home or wherever they might be. The plan is to continue this covenant weekly until our spring renewal services next year. This plan will be presented more fully next Sunday morning.

2022 CHURCH PHOTO DIRECTORY Today and Next Sunday Only !

Photos will be taken in the church foyer immediately following morning and evening worship services. You can also “proof” your directory listing and update any changes in your contact information.

Are you a regular attendee of WFMC but not yet in the directory? If you call WFMC your church home, we want you in the directory—whether or not you are a formal member. Please stop by the foyer and have your family photo taken and give us your contact info.

Our directory is created in house and is an important tool for knowing one another and staying connected. Please participate—it’s free and painless!

Beautiful prayer shawls are available to give away! These shawls are free to our congregation to use as gifts of encouragement for our friends in need and are located on the shelving to right of the Information Wall (to the left of Welcome Center). We want to pray for those who receive a shawl, so when you take a shawl,

please sign it out in notebook located on the shelf with the shawls; indicate your name and the recipient of the shawl and let us know how we can pray.

The prayer shawl ministry, Common Threads, meets Thursdays, 10:00a—12:00 noon in B107. Please join our merry band for two hours of rich fellowship as we work to create these beautiful prayer shawls!

A Time To Remember...On All-Saints Sunday evening, October 31, we

will remember and celebrate the lives of our family members who have passed away during the past year (since October 2020). Through songs, prayers and scripture readings, we will honor those who were part of the WFMC family, as well as the deceased parents, siblings and children of those who attend WFMC.

If you would like your loved one included, please complete a purple information sheet at the Welcome Center and turn it in at the Welcome Center or the church office. Please note pictures are due by October 17 in order to be included in a video presentation.

Please also take a moment now to silence all electronic devices so that the Lord might have opportunity to freely speak to all.
