Energy BoostSimple ways to boost your energy! And who wouldn’t want more energy?!#1 Watch what you are drinking. Caffe ine/cof fee/sugar = instant gratification. Unfortunately these drinks offer short-term solutions that

leave you feeling worse than before drinking them. Drink these for too long and you end up taxing your adrenal glands, which make you feel exhausted and imbalances your body. An imbalanced body is even more energy-depleted. Water is your answer! Water = energy boost!#2 Just be still. Slowing down, even for a few minutes a day will do much for restoring your mind. When your mind is running at a rapid pace all day, springing from thought to thought and never stopping so you can just collect yourself, you get not only mentally tired, but physically tired, too. If you are holding stress in your body and tensing your muscles, it’s very exhausting.!#3 Pair your foods properly and get more magnesium in your diet. One of the major things you can do to boost your energy is to stop pairing heavy foods together; this will give you better digestion and more energy. Keep your meals simple. If you are deficient in magnesium, your likelihood of feeling fatigued even after a good night’s sleep is increased. Magnesium can be found in large amounts in Swiss chard, spinach, tempeh, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, Brazil nuts, millet and quinoa.

I would like to remind you that these “Healthy Bytes” are my own suggestions and not medical advice.I get my references from many practical sources. Please read them with this in mind.

Sunnyside would like to help our church family understand church finances. In an effort to accomplish this, we are starting a series of brief outlines about how your donations are accounted for and used. This is the first in the series.

Donations to the church fall into one of two major areas: 1): those monies received and kept in trust for forwarding on to the world wide corporate church (“world church”) and 2): those monies received and utilized by our own Sunnyside church (“local church”).

World church donations include Tithe, Sabbath-school offerings, World Missions, Conference Advance and others. The donations received by Sunnyside for these kinds of funds are accumulated and kept in trust during any given month and disbursed on or before the 10th of the following month to the Central California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists for world-wide church use.

Local church donations include Combined Budget offerings, School Subsidy, Associate Pastor Fund, Youth Pastor Fund, Community Services Fund, and a host of other funds kept and used strictly by the local church for the designated fund purposes.

During the calendar year 2012 these two breakdowns for donations were as follows:

Next time we will discuss what happens to the “Tithe” you donate.

Prayer for Our Church Family

Hear our prayer for our church family;Where there is falseness, smother it by your truth

Where there is any coldness, kindle it with your loveWhere there is joy and hope, free us to share it together

And make us one as You are one. Before (You) God and You who are near

We release anything we hold against one another; We regret all the harm we have done;We stand beside the wrong in our lives

and we ask (Your) forgiveness.Amen
