Rev. Luis Ortiz, Pastor
I will be faithful to Christ through The United Methodist Church
with my prayers, my presence, my gifts, my service, and my witness.
Welcome Guests!
We’re Glad You Are Here!
Welcome to Morrow First UMC! We hope that our
worship service will be a blessing to you and your
family. We pray that the Spirit of God touches your
heart as we worship together. For your
convenience, an information card
can be found in each hymnal. This
card will help you as we proceed
through the worship service. The
card also explains some of the
areas of the church and the worship leaders involved in
the service. Should you need any assistance during the
worship service, an usher will be happy to help you.
Please complete a guest/visitor card found in the pew
pocket and drop the card in the offering plate so that we
might know of your presence in our Lord’s house. We
will not contact you unless you check the “I would like a
call from the minister” box, except for a letter thanking
you for being a part of our service. If you would like
more information about our church or scheduled
activities, please call the church office or email Rev.
Luis Ortiz or Cyndie Combs. All church contact
information can be found on page two, at the top of the
page. God bless you and thank you for worshipping with
us!
The 150th Session of
The North Georgia Annual Conference is
June 7-9, 2016 at
The Classic Center in Athens
Our Official Delegates:
Clergy, Rev. Luis Ortiz; Lay, Anna Cox
Theme for The 150th session of the
North Georgia Annual Conference is
Bound for Greater Things, based on
John 14:12-14.
Annual Conference special offering will help Action
Ministries “Raise the Roof” over the heads of families in
need, providing them with the foundational pillars of
hunger relief, housing and educational opportunities.
This Sunday, please place a check in offering plate made
out to Morrow First UMC with “AC Offering” in the
memo line. Our offering will be taken to Annual
Conference by our lay delegate.
Bishop B. Michael Watson, resident bishop of The
United Methodist Church’s North Georgia Episcopal
Area since 2008 will be retiring on September 1, 2016.
A service of celebration to honor the ministry of Bishop
Watson and his wife Margaret will take
place June 8 at the 7 p.m. evening session
where they will be presented with a love
offering as a gift of appreciation. An
informal reception follows the service.
Additionally, a book of remembrances is
being assembled by the Conference
Episcopacy Committee, and tables will be set up where
people can go to write notes to Bishop and Mrs. Watson.
Pray for Annual Conference
Open Hearts. Open minds.
