After the reading have a conversation about the book. What did the girls

and dad do for Mother’s day? Talk about what had happened in

sequence, using the words such as first, then, after and etc. What did the

girls write on their cards? What would you like to do for mum to

celebrate Mother’s Day?

• Plan your Mother’s day. What would you like to do/make for your mum?

• Draw the sequence of the story on paper.

Paper lantern

Materials

Paper, scissors, glue/stapler

What to do

Introduce Vesak, Buddha Day, to your child. It is the day to celebrate the birth of Buddha. Explain to

your child that some people light lotus lantern to celebrate Vesak.

Make mini lanterns and display at your home.

How to make the paper lantern:

1. Fold paper in half.

2. Cut along the folded edges.

3. Fold it over and glue or staple both sides.

Paper rolls, scissors, tissue paper.

What to do

Cut the paper rolls into slice thin. Fold it half to make the love heart. Glue the paper rolls onto a piece of paper. Fill up the love heart with tissue paper.

Write ‘I LOVE YOU, MUM’

Read The Night Before Mother’s Day by Natasha Wing again.

Celebrate Mother’s day with a private spa session for mum. Massage her shoulders and feet. Place

facial mask on her face. Paint mum’s nail with her favourite colour.

• Have a V.I.P. tea party for mum.

• Sing mum’s favourite song for her.

Write alphabet uppercase letters from A to Z with chalks on the ground or with colour pencils on paper.

Go on and play the game on the Uppercase Letter Balloon Pop. Click on ‘Myself I’m a student’ to play the game.
