President of the Republic Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi said:” Yemeni re-union is a great and historic achievement that Yemeni peoples have ever made, passed over the desire of both the colonial and theocratic powers, they made a history and geography that reflect magnificent civilization of great nation deeply rooted throughout humankind history. That is why our great people warmly welcomed and celebrated the moment of its birth May 22nd ,1990”.

President Hadi’s statement came in his address to the nation on the eve of the 28th Anniversary of the National Day of the Unification, May 22,1990.

The President has explained that there had been mistakes marred the unification course because of the political elite, however such misconducts and irresponsible behavior should never underestimate the historic event of the Yemeni re-union.

Hadi stated that Yemenis in north and south came to realize early that the unity

was abducted by the political elite that capitalized on the unification to serve its selfish personal interests. Therefore, the Yemeni people in the south started its protests against the political regime in 2007, then the entire Yemeni peoples launched their mass-popular uprising in 2011.

In his address, President Hadi said:” From the first moment, we assumed the office we had come to realize that the re-union course was deviated from the right path and it must be corrected on fair basis”. He added: “ So, our vision was clear and we reached a unique national consensus in the Comprehensive National Dialogue.”

The President went on saying: “The Yemenis of all political stripes came collectively up with the idea of the Federal State that ensures maintaining the unity through the proposal of a Federal Civil State that can produce equal citizenship, partnership in power and wealth and leave no room for the dynasties that dream of eternal ruling “.

President Hadi vehemently defended the Federal Sate Proposal, describing it as the new Yemen proposal that can ensure safe and prosperous future”. Federal State Proposal constitutes the essence of the new Yemen that ensures a secure, stable and prosperous future for all Yemenis in the north and south”.

The President blamed the Iran-backed Houthi militia’s coup for spoiling the political transition process and implementing the outcomes of the National Dialogue.” Basically the coup d’état deliberately targeting the Federal State Proposal”, said Haid.

President Hadi came to say:” You should be confident that the proposal of the powerful federal Yemen that we jointly defend it today and advocate, is the best ever choice to secure the country and save it from dark future, it is also a genuine guarantee for our brethren’s security who are making great sacrifices to maintain Yemen’s unity and eliminate the Iran’s scheme from Yemen”.

Yemen has confirmed its commitment to the decisions of the Islamic summits and to what will come out of the OIC’s 7th extraordinary summit in Istanbul, Turkey, regarding the latest developments in Palestine.

Addressing the 7th summit on President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi’s behalf, Yemen’s Foreign Minister Abdul-Malik al-Mekhlafi said “the implementation of the United State’s decision to move its embassy in Israel to al-Quds (Jerusalem) on Monday

14th May constituted a grave violation and breach of the UN Security Council’s and the UN General Assembly’s resolutions.”

“The US implementation of this decision which aims to change the legal and historical status of the occupied al-Quds constitutes as much provocation and violation of the Palestinian people’s rights as a breakof the international commitment to the two-state solution …and this will inevitably lead to undermining the efforts of

achieving peace and threatens to push the region to more violence, chaos and instability,” he said.

He condemned Israel’s massacre on Monday against the defenseless Palestinians who were protesting against the US embassy move. He called for working toward the issuance of a UN Security Council resolution that condemns the massacre and form an international investigation panel on it.

Minister of Local Administration, the Chairman of the Higher Committee for Relief Aid, Abdul-Raqib Fatah, strongly condemned the Houthi rebels continued seizure and confiscation of humanitarian relief aid.

In a statement to Saba, Fatah said the rebels keep interfering in the humanitarian organizations work in the capital Sana’a and other provinces under their control.

Fatah said the rebels seize shipments of medicines for renal failure patients in Ibb and deny the needy other provinces access to humanitarian aid.

He said that the rebels tamper with the lists of aid beneficiaries by replacing the real destitute people with the rebel group’s loyalists and by deceiving aid

organizations to get aid sold in the black markets so as to raise funds for the group.

Fatah called on the UN organizations to stop being silentfor these practices and instead to reveal these abuses to the public opinion, the international and local.

He called on the Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen, Lisa Grande, to do something to stop this Houthi confiscation and misuse of humanitarian supplies.

Fatah renewed the call to the international organizations to decentralize the humanitarian aid across the country to ensure access to all the entitled beneficiaries, the real ones in all provinces.

In a speech addressed to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdul-Malik al-Mekhlafi, the Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abu El Gheyt commended the efforts made by Yemen in confronting the Zionist agenda in the Arab and African region, and in defending the holy Al-Quds (Jerusalem) city and preventing any other countries from adopting the unilateral American position to recognize Al-Quds as the capital of Israel.

Abu El Gheyt also valued the effort made by Yemen together with the rest of the Arab states in countering Israel’s bid to join the UN Security

Council, which led to Israel’s decision to withdraw its candidacy for the Security Council in 2019/2020.

“I applaud the efforts undertaken by your esteemed State in this direction in the framework of collective Arab action. I am confident that this coordinated Arab effort will continue at the highest level to prevent the normalization of the status of Israel within the United Nations system and to address its attempts to penetrate the African continent at the expense of the Palestinian cause and the Arab interests,” said Abu El Gheyt

Information Minister Muammar al-Eryanihas condemned the Iranian-backed Houthirebels’ looting of humanitarian and relief aid donated to the people in the territories under their control.

“The Yemeni government has learnt that Houthis are practicing a “widespread and systematic looting of humanitarian aid provided to Yemen by the UN relief agencies and King Salman Humanitarian Relief Center,” al-Eryanitold Saba.

He said that “the gathered

information confirms that the Houthimilitia haveforced the chieftains of neighborhoods to adopt new lists of relief aid beneficiaries, families of rebel fighters killed or wounded as they fight in the militia’s ranks.

The sources said that rebel militia has also set up a number of associations, ostensibly to undertake the distribution of humanitarian aid but are in effect only an umbrella to control aid and sell them to raise funds.

Al-Eryani pointed previous differences between the

Houthis and international aid agencies over the rebels manipulation such associations - the Houthis to control and sell aid shipments, disputes that resulted in cancelling agreements of coordination with those associations to distribute aid.

Al-Eryanicalled for the adoption of clear mechanisms to deliver aid and implement relief programs for the millions of Yemeni beneficiaries affected by the Houthi coup and years long armed rebellion against the government.
