Welcome to Grace

(11:00am) Sacrament of Holy Baptism Colton Christopher Gabrielson L: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. C: Amen. L: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. C: But if we confess our sins, God, Who is faithful and just, will forgive our sins and

cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

+ Silence for reflection on God’s Word and for self-examination +

L: Let us then confess our sins to God our Father.

C: Most merciful God, we confess that we are by nature sinful and unclean. We have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We justly deserve Your present and eternal punishment. For the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways to the glory of Your holy name. Amen.

L: In the mercy of almighty God, Jesus Christ was given to die for us, and for His sake God forgives us all our sins. To those who believe in Jesus Christ He gives the power to become the children of God and bestows on them the Holy Spirit. May the Lord, who has begun this good work in us, bring it to completion in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

C: Amen.

Our Reading for today is from: Colossians 3:12-17 12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

We Three Kings of Orient Are 1 We Three Kings of Orient are; Bearing gifts we traverse afar,

Field and fountain, moor and mountain, Following yonder star. O star of wonder, star of night, Star with royal beauty bright. Westward leading, still proceeding, Guide us to thy perfect light.

2 Born a King on Bethlehem plain; Gold I bring to crown Him again

King forever ceasing never; Over us all to reign O star of wonder, star of night, Star with royal beauty bright. Westward leading, still proceeding, Guide us to thy perfect light.

3 Glorious now behold Him arise; King and God and sacrifice

Alleluia Alleluia; Sounds through the earth and skies O star of wonder, star of night, Star with royal beauty bright. Westward leading, still proceeding, Guide us to thy perfect light. Text (st. 1) and Tune: Public domain

Message Pastor Rob Goodwin

Away in a Manger LSB 364 Away in a manger, no crib for a bed, The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head. The stars in the bright sky looked down where He lay, The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay. The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes, But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes. I love Thee, Lord Jesus! Look down from the sky, And stay by my cradle till morning is nigh. Be near me, Lord Jesus; I ask thee to stay Close by me forever and love me, I pray. Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care, And take us to heaven to live with Thee there. The herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn King!” Christ, by highest heav’n adored, Christ, the everlasting Lord, Late in time behold Him come, Offspring of a virgin’s womb. Veiled in flesh the Godhead see, Hail the_incarnate Deity! Pleased as Man with man to dwell, Jesus, our Immanuel! Hail, the heav’n-born Prince of Peace! Hail, the Sun of Righteousness! Light and life to all He brings, Ris’n with healing in His wings. Mild He lays His glory by, Born that man no more may die, Born to raise the sons of earth, Born to give them second birth. The Bond payments made using funds from the three year campaign are now being made using General Stewardship funds. It is therefore essential that the General Stewardship giving totals $1.6 million dollars for the coming year. To

achieve this annual goal we need $30,769 each week. The graph and table show each week’s plate & envelope and e-giving towards General Stewardship, allowing us to gauge if we are keeping pace with the amount needed.

Concerning the Lord’s Supper In the Lord’s Supper we receive Christ’s Body and Blood in faith, trusting in His Word and promises that proclaim the forgiveness of sins and strength for our faith. As we partake of this sacrament to-gether, we testify to our faith in Jesus and to our unity of faith and bond of Christian fellowship.

If you wish to partake of the Lord’s Supper, please be guided by your response to these questions:

Do you believe that you are a sinner and in need of forgiveness from God?

Do you believe that this forgiveness is found only in Christ, and is offered by Christ in the Lord’s Sup-per?

Do you believe that Christ’s body and blood are truly present in, with, and under the bread and wine as Christ promised?

Do you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, as taught at Grace, and by your participation in the sacrament, give testimony to the faith we share?

Do you desire by the power of the Holy Spirit and the instruction of God’s Word to live a life pleasing to Him?

Before communing for the first time at Grace, you are asked to please speak with one of the pastors. Children are welcomed at the Lord’s Table to receive a blessing, but should not partake of the Sacrament prior to Communion instruction. God’s richest blessings to all who come to His table!

For Those with Health Concerns: Gluten–free wafers are available in a paper liner in the center of the tray holding the bread. If you de-sire, please take one as the elder passes before you. Also, a wine-alternative is located in the center of the tray of individual cups of wine. Those who have need of this option, please take one as an elder passes before you.
