Lets all hope that we see some sunshine next week! Have a great half term break! Ms Davies Principal Geography Field Trip On Wednesday 20th May, Year 10 geographers completed their data collection for their controlled assessment. The aim of the day was to collect as much data and evidence as possible for their investigation about beaches and coastal processes. To do this we visited Flamborough Head and Mappleton on the East Yorkshire coast. These locations allowed the learners to compare the hard chalk headland of Flamborough, with the boulder clay cliffs of Mappleton. Our day involved completing beach transects, beach profiles, sketching, wave counting and observing the many different coastal features that show how the sea is shaping the coast at both locations. The day was a massive success, with all learners seeing geography happening in the real world! In this issue… Page 1: Principal’s News Page 2: Year 11 Revision for Half-Term Page 2: Snippets... Nurture

    Snippets...

Nurture were very excited to go on a trip to Eyam as part of the medieval England topic. The trip spanned two days (Thursday and Friday) to accommodate both nurture groups. The idea of the trip was to visit the Derbyshire village that was struck by the bubonic plague in 1665. The trip included a tour of the museum and the surrounding area.

Student Voice learners took part in a community litter pick on Thursday with members of the Environmental Enforcement Team, Councillor Linda Burgess and staff from the college - great team work everyone!

Shaimerden Abekov (10YA) produced an excellent piece of written work in French - good work!

Thank you to Mason Holmes (8PD) and his Grandad for sharing interesting artefacts in History - Thank You.
