May God Bless you abundantly this Christmas
It is hard to believe that we've come to the end of 2018 and that this will be the final newsletter for the year. It has been a significant year of growth as we have faced challenges, and as a community, overcome those challenges. As we know, times are tough in Darwin currently but we, as a school have managed to succeed and move forward against the downward trend.
It is pleasing as Principal, to look back and know that we have increased our school programme significantly this year. Most of all I'm pleased with how students have thrived. The thanksgiving service last week was a great opportunity to review and enjoy all the marvellous ways in which students have advanced throughout 2018. Thank you for coming on this journey with us. Our 30th year anniversary has been one that we will remember well and a year we have enjoyed celebrating.
It is always sad to farewell current staff who will be leaving us at the end of this year. We have an incredibly good team at Palmerston Christian School. We are grateful that the Lord is bringing good staff to Palmerston Christian School in 2019. This however, does not make the farewell any easier as we say goodbye to beloved staff - Chad Robertson, Kylie Farnsworth, Amy Clisby, Ashlee Kirkham, Ben de Klerk and Amie Wagner – we wish them all God’s richest blessings for the future.
Many of us are weary as we go through the end of year celebrations for 2018. I am however very excited about 2019 and all the opportunities that await us in the new year. 2019 will be a year of consolidation as we roll out the international Maths program, Prime Maths (Primary) and we will continue to expand elective program in the Middle School. Every aspect of what we do is being tweaked and improved in preparation for the coming year.
We are also making some significant administrative changes include Lowes, Gateway who are now providing our school uniforms. You will also continue to hear more about FACTS and how this will assist families in managing school fee payments. We are a school that likes to embrace continuous improvement in not only student learning, but also administrative management.
I would like to share with you one of my favourite scripture verses,
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares t he Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29 verse 11. New International Version (NIV)
Whatever your plans are for 2019, I pray that you will continue to follow God's plan for your life. May you have a wonderful Christmas and may God bless you abundantly.
In Christ
Ken McAllister
Principal
