NOTICE IS ALSOHEREBY GIVEN that the PennYan Central School Board ofEducation has authorized theDistrict Clerk or a Board de-signee to provide absentee bal-lots to qualified District voterswith respect to the referendumto be held at the special meet-ing. A District voter must re-quest in advance an applicationfor an absentee ballot. Thevoter must complete the appli-cation and state the reason

he/she will not be able to appearin person on the day of theaforementioned special meet-ing. The District Clerk/designeemust receive the application at

election if the ballot is to bemailed to the voter or the daybefore the election if the ballot isto be delivered personally to theDistrict Clerk/designee.

Pursuant to the provisionsof Education Law, a Districtvoter is eligible to vote by absentee ballot only under the certain conditions, which are

summarized as follows:a.) Illness or physical dis

ability;b.) Business responsibilities

or studies, which require traveoutside of the county or area ofresidence on the day of theelection;

c.) Vacation outside of thecounty or area of residence; or

d.) Detention or confinement to jail before conviction oafter conviction for an offenseother than a felony.

An absentee ballot mustreach the office of the DistrictClerk/designee not later than5:00 p.m. on the day of theaforementioned special meeting.

A list of all persons to whomabsentee ballots have been issued shall be maintained by theDistrict Clerk/designee andmade available for public inspection. Any qualified votechallenging the acceptance ofan absentee ballot must filewritten statement with the District Clerk/designee or informthe election inspectors on theday of the District election.
