TRANSCRIPT
Dear Parents The P&F Christmas in July and Social Justice event went well in the School Hall on Friday evening. Despite the relatively low numbers in attendance, not surprising in the wet and stormy weather we have been experiencing of late, we reached a crowd of 45 or so. It was a great opportunity for parents and staff to mingle and chat for a couple of hours for a very worthwhile cause. The Yr 5 parent organising committee did a fantastic job of decorating it beautifully to suit the theme. The committee and I were really thrilled with the amount of blankets and sleeping bags sent in by the school community too, so a big thank you to all who contributed. We left the collection in the Hall to show the children the results of the blanket drive at yesterday’s Mornings Prayer Assembly.
My sincere appreciation to the P&F and the event organising committee, led by Penny Riley, for undertaking this purposeful opportunity to contribute to a need in our society. This type of Social Justice project by our parent body articulates so clearly to our children the importance of ‘doing’ for others. Thank you again, everyone. From quite another aspect, the Hall hasn’t been used for a while for a dedicated social event and it proved a good exercise to see how it could be ‘prettied up’ for a special occasion such as P&F quiz or bingo nights and possibly student disco or graduation events, etc.
