WEDNESDAY’S WORD

FALL PARTY Planning for the Fall Party has begun! On Sunday, October 29 from 3:30-

6:30pm everyone is invited to br ing an appetite, a side dish, a law n

chair and a willingness to connect with others and have fun. If you have an idea

for connection and fun that you would be willing bring to the planning table

please let us know. Contact Landon Collins with ideas or for more information.

A FRUITFUL FAMILY This Wednesday, September 27 w e w ill start w ith a shared m eal at

5:30pm. At 6:30pm participants of all ages will engage “hands on” in one of myr-

iad Fruit Bearing endeavors. This week we will use dead trees to bless others

through our Firewood Ministry. Next week we will learn about the history, pur-

pose and practice of PACEM and begin preparing to host ladies from November

4-11. For more information check out our weekly L.I.F.E. Together Calendar and

visit the Events Page on our website. Every Wednesday is a different adventure.

MARRIAGE CLASS What if Marriage was designed more for our holiness than happiness? This Sun-

day, October 1 w e w ill launch our seven -week marriage class called “Sacred

Marriage”. There are still a few spots remaining so if you are interested in invest-

ing in your marriage please contact Landon Collins to sign up by Friday.

LOOKING FOR NEW RINGERS The Junior Handbell Group is Looking for New Ringers. If you are in first-fifth

grade and would like to play handbells there is a spot for you. We practice each

Monday beginning at 2:30pm and ending at 4:15pm. If you attend Broadus

Wood Elementary, Barbara will pick you up from school. Our first practice will

PART TIME EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Chestnut Grove is seeking a part-time accompanist to support a diverse, inclu-

sive program of Christian worship for the Chestnut Grove congregation which

facilitates divine communion, Gospel proclamation and spiritual rejuvenation.

WMU MISSION MEETING All are invited to attend the WMU meeting on Thursday, September 28, at 7pm

in the Revitalized Basement with special guests Ella Claire and Benny Clark who

will share their experiences while serving as missionaries in Salt Lake City, UT.

tuary. Your Book of Reports entries are due by Monday, October 2 to the church

office for inclusion.

GIFTS OF HOPE—HYGIENE KITS FOR HURRICANE RELIEF & THE HOMELESS We are collecting small size toiletries to help our neighbors affected by the

recent hurricanes and the homeless. The small size toiletries will be used to

make Hygiene Kits on Wednesday, October. 25 during L.I.F.E. Together.

Toiletries will also be distributed to the Salvation Army, PACEM and Word of

Faith to share with the many homeless in our local communities. A new

toothbrush, toothpaste, bar of soap, shampoo, deodorant, shaving cream,

razor, comb/brush, wash cloths/thin, women’s personal hygiene products are

all small but very effective means of improving the quality of life many of our

neighbors are experiencing. Collection boxes are located in the Welcome Area

and at the upstairs hallway display through October 22.
