This workshop is being held pursuant to Assigned Commissioner’s Amended Scoping Memo and Ruling, issued on May 13, 2014 and pursuant to San Diego Gas & Electric Company’s Motion on behalf of the Smart Inverter Working Group’s Phase 2 Communications Issues proposed schedule, filed on July 18, 2014.

This workshop is a public forum to discuss the Smart Inverter Working Group’s draft Phase 2 Communications Protocols Recommendations document with the intention of verifying where consensus lies and where more deliberation is required. The future Smart Inverter Working Group Phase 2 Communications Protocols Recommendations document may provide guidance to the utilities for future Electric Rule 21 tariff modifications. Please note that we expect this Workshop to be a highly technical conversation.
