D O R I S J O H N S T O N ( S T . G O D D A R D ) , passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015 with her family by her side at the age of 83 years. Mom was predeceased by her husband Errol, her brothers John (Ellie), Merrill (Shirley), Lawrence (Dora) and sister Evy (Bud). She is survived by one loving sister, Diane (Julian). She will be forever in the hearts of her children; daughters Tannis (Steve), Karen (Vern) and Kim (Craig), sons Dana (Bernie) and Craig (Pam), grandchildren Tania Lidster (Steve), Rhett Borton (Tamara), Sanna Martyniuk, Meaghan and Taylor Johnston, Alexis and Jayden Johnston, Julian Johnston (Jenny), Chyna Chandler (Tristan) and Fallon Stokell (Dave), great-grandchildren Wade and Daylen Lidster, Stevie Martyniuk, Maverick Johnston, Nixon and Max Stokell. Mom and dad resided in Westbourne, Manitoba until dad's passing, when she moved to Portage La Prairie. Later on, she moved to Lethbridge, Alberta. Mom was a great seamstress, not only out of need to provide but for her passion to do so, like making an outfit during the day to wear that night. She also loved her sports, from playing baseball to curling to darts, even competing on the National level for darts. Mom loved to hunt and shoot, collecting her fair share of geese with her husband and friends. Mom, above all, the taste of your amazing cinnamon buns will never be forgotten. Mom has had several health issues through the years, but it never stopped her from being positive about life. She always had a mischievous twinkle in her eyes and a ready smile. Mom has left an empty space in the hearts of all she loved and all who loved her. But she is no longer in pain. We love you, Mom! Besides his loving wife, he is lovingly remembered by his four daughters; Pat Skelly of Lethbridge, Heather (Terry) Bailey of Ponoka, Beth (Randy) Quan of Lethbridge and Donna Edhart of Edmonton; 10 grandchildren Robert (Nicole) Sakamoto, Shae-Lynn Sakamoto, Liam Skelly, Brandon and Kyle (Katie) Bailey, Alycia (Colin) Poffenroth, Scott (Stephanie) Quan, Bree Quan (Ashley Thomas), Craig and Jared Edhart as well as one great-granddaughter Scotlyn Bailey. He is also survived by one sister Dorothy MacDonald of New Westminster, B.C., as well as two sisters in law of Lethbridge, Sadie (Doug) McCarthy and Cathie (Jim) McGinty, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends in Canada and Scotland. He was predeceased by his parents James and Margaret and one brother George. Bob was born on May 19, 1932 in Edinburgh, Scotland and immigrated to Canada when he was 24 years old. His future wife followed him and they were married in the Yukon February 12, 1958. Together, they began their family and later moved to Lethbridge in 1961. Bob enjoyed playing golf and Bridge. He had a good sense of humor and loved to joke around. Bob and Phyllis spent time traveling, and their favorite places were Hawaii and Coeur d'Alene. Lynn was born February 06 1958 in Scarborough, ON to James and Edna Baker (both deceased). She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Bruce, two daughters, Shannon Blackadder (Wade Doucette) and Michele (Chris) Meyers and one son, Matthew Blackadder. Additionally, she is survived by her father-in-law, Robert, five siblings: Loni, Lori, Grant, Garth and Glenn, and three grandchildren; Nicole, Jayden and Connor. Lynn began a nursing career in 1981 after graduating from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute; she worked in a variety of fields including: labour and delivery, home nursing, the operating room, and service in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Nursing Officer from 1988 to 1995. Her career ended working in the operating room at the Chinook (Lethbridge) Regional Hospital. Lynn lived life to the fullest. She had many passions including: bird watching and singing with the Southern Accords and Vocal Motion Choruses, but her greatest interest was combining her amazing photography skills with all of her pursuits. Always up for a new adventure, she recently took up motorcycling and scuba diving and was looking forward to travelling and seeing more of the world. Her greatest love however, was for people: her family, for whom no effort was too great; as well as those with whom she worked and sang with. A memorial service will be held in the new year at the Lethbridge Salvation Army Church on 13th Street, Lethbridge with date and timings to be announced. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish to donate please do so to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association . Obituaries 1160 S t e p h e n P r o s k 1 9 3 1 - 2 0 1 5 Stephen (Steve) Prosk was born in Coaldale, Alberta on August 11, 1931. He was the sixth of eight children born to Wrchec and Caroline, recent immigrants from Poland. Although he grew up in relative poverty, he became a certified steam engineer and secured long-term employment at Cominco in Trail from 1965 to 1973, then at Weyerhauser in Vavenby before retiring to Oliver. He chose the town for its warm climate, and spent much of his time out in the garden. From early spring to late fall, he planned, planted, cultivated, nurtured and harvested far more food than he could ever use for himself. Five years ago, he gave up his acreage for a smaller plot in a local trailer park. He was a life-long fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Stampeders, Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves and professional wrestling. Last spring, he traveled to Vancouver to watch the Leafs play live for the first time. At home, he spent time watching sports and keeping abreast of the news, doing crossword puzzles and maintaining his stamp collection. Steve passed away on December 4, 2015 in South Okanagan General Hospital after being diagnosed with cancer in the summer. He was pre- deceased by his brother Lloyd and sister Bernice of Lethbridge, his sister Stafca of Fort Macleod, Alberta and his son David of Edmonton. He is survived by his brother Tony (Anne) and his sister Nellie of Lethbridge, his sister Mary of Granum, Alberta, and his brother Ed of Calgary. He is also survived by his son Rick (Karen) of Quesnel, six adult grandchildren (Paulette, Matt, Erin, Ian, Brett and Wade) and four great-grandchildren.
