Wembley goes hungry for the40 Hour Famine!

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students. On the 15th to the 17th of August I will be par-ticipating in the 40 Hour Famine, and other stu-dents will be as well. The 40 Hour Famine is a fundraiser for kids living in poverty overseas. By giving up food (or something else), you raise money for these people. We are trying to raise funds for this amazing cause, and I hope all of you will be able to do-nate to our school, or even join the Wembley Team, which is on the website. You can join by going to www.40hourfamine.com.au and scrolling to the search bar and typing in “Wembley”. The first search result is our team. You don‟t have to give up eating; there is a whole range of different ways to fundraise, such as: Furniture, Electricity/Electronics, Talking and much more (There is a list on the website). I will be going around to each of the classrooms on the Friday, the 15th of August, to collect donations. I hope you can donate or participate for this great cause! Indiana Rickard Smith, 6B School Captain/Junior School Councillor

K team Publishers The K team Publishers are a group of parent vol-unteers who help Mr K and Mrs Katz to publish the many fabulous books produced by your chil-dren and their classes. We also help out with other book related tasks for the literacy pro-grams. The group meets regularly on a Friday morning from 9-11 down in the grade 6 building at the back. During weeks when Mr K is sharing his expertise with Wembley (such as this week) we try to do a full day on the Friday to manage the amazing number of books. We are always seeking anyone interested in helping out our lit-tle team. If you are interested in helping out or learning how to publish a book, please contact Mrs Katz or Catherine Bain on 0418 529 579 or turn up one Friday morning! Thanks
