There are four types of multi stream organization.

First is voluntary simplicity. These are people who are willing to cut their pay so that they would be treated with dignity in the workplace. Studies show that 25% of Americans would rather work at a multistream organization rather than a mainstream organization. When people are not satisfied with their office jobs, they can choose to work or join a voluntary simplicity organization like bookstores, groceries etc. People who start voluntary simplicity organizations usually seek help from external stakeholders.

Second is Multidefender. They have very satisfying jobs. They experiment with different strategies so that employees are treated with dignity and respect. They want to make their internal operations environmental friendly.

Third is Multiprospector. They are very environmentally friendly companies. An example is body shop. They work closely with their suppliers so that their packaging is environmentally friendly. they also explain to the customers the benefits of using their products and how their products reduce waste.

Last is Multianalyzer. They want to achieve a balance of both worlds. They want to have a good workplace while also helping external stakeholders.
