North Stradbroke Island is accessible by vehicle ferry and water taxi from Cleveland, about 45 minutes south of Brisbane. Stradbroke Ferries operate up to 14 return trips daily and the journey takes approximately 45 minutes by vehicle ferry and 20 minutes by water taxi. There are sealed roads on the island suitable for a standard vehicle, however if you’re taking a four-wheel drive you will need to obtain a permit before driving on the beach.
