Discussion of animals found in the Elmer stories. Can you find out any fascinating facts about elephants?

Personal, Social and Emotional Development.

Rainbow Fish circle time/speaking and listening activities. Is the Rainbow Fish a kind friend? Would you share your shiny scales with your friends?

Rainbow Fish turn-taking game. Pot of gold at the end of the rainbow- I’m precious and

special because … (describing self in positive terms). I’m special like Elmer because … (UtW:P&C-30-50m) How is Elmer helpful to his friends?

Model using number lines to find one more or one less. Developing language related to adding and subtracting.

Model using maths area to initiate and solve own mathematical problems.

Encourage everyday language related to time through discussing date, months, seasons, etc. today, tomorrow, minute, hour and discuss how it can be measured.

Money in role play scenarios, introducing language, pence, pound, etc.

Elmer’s skin, repeating pattern mosaics.

Daily 100 day counting to practise reciting number.

Money used during snack time, discussing different ways that the same amount of money can be made.

Expressive Arts and Design

Continued use of Creative Area, independent junk modelling/ collage.
