ICMS Partner Declaration Documentwww.icms-coalition.org
The Coalition would like to encourage your organisation to take a leading role in endorsing this new
international best practice by becoming a recognised ICMS Partner.
The ICMS Coalition was founded at a meeting held at the International Monetary Fund, in Washington in 2016 and is currently a group of 46 professional and not-for-profit organisations from
around the world.
For the first time standards bodies have come together to develop and implement a new, internationally-recognised standard for improving the way construction costs are calculated and
presented. In doing so, construction markets around the world will benefit from greater consistency in classifying, defining and analyzing construction costs.
ICMS will enable better benchmarking across international building and civil engineering projects
and standardise data which feeds into cost and financial reporting.
All Coalition organisations have committed to implementing the new standard and many commercial firms and governments are now expressing their intention to do so.
Drafted by an independent group of 27 technical experts, the standards will be published at the end
of July 2017 and will be available to download online at www.icms-coalition.org .
ICMS Partners
It is important that industry understands ICMS and recognises the benefit of its introduction for the global construction and infrastructure profession. To this end, the Coalition is keen to engage your organisation in its implementation.
ICMS Partners will commit to the adoption of international construction measurement standards and establish themselves at the forefront of this new best practice approach.
The ICMS Partner status is not legally binding and aims simply to offer status to early supporters of
the new standard. Unless they state otherwise, organisations signing up as a partner will be listed in an update to the ICMS website in July.
If you would like more information about ICMS and the opportunity to become a Partner
organisation then I would be very happy to discuss this further with you.
Yours Sincerely,
Ken Creighton RICS Director of Professional Standards and Chair of the ICMS Coalition
