This year all boxes must be ready to go by Monday, 13 th November. “Team Hope” serves needy children and their families worldwide. We welcome all your support and generosity. Afterschool Homework Club An Afterschool Homework Club continues to run in the school. The club is a huge success and welcomes further pupils at any stage (forms can be obtained from class teacher or school office). Cost is €3 per day/€10 per child per week. From 2:30 – 3:20 Monday to Thursday Christmas Market On Thursday, 30th November from 4:30pm – 9:30pm the school will hold our annual Christmas Market. It is an ideal opportunity for local artists and stallholders to exhibit and sell their produce. Please spread the word and encourage as many people as possible to exhibit and support our Craft Fair. Santa’s Grotto Remember to book your special visit to Santa by ringing the school office. First child €10 includes Santa present and photo, €5 for each additional child. All support from parents, family & friends welcome in preparation for another successful Christmas Market. Next meeting Tuesday, 14 th Nov. at 9am. Notice will be sent home with time slots for those who can assist on the day. We welcome as much support as possible on the day and leading up to it, thank you.

BingoBingo continues on Thursday, 7th December in Wolfe Tones GAA Club Shannon at 8:00p.m. Thank you to everybody who supported our November Bingo. As funding in schools is at such a critical level we appreciate your attendance. Children attending must be under strict parental supervision.

School Stall AppealAs part of our Christmas Market fundraiser, the school will be setting up a stall selling handbags, scarves & backpacks, funds from this stall will be going directly back into the school. Please forward any of these item in good condition to the school.

Parent/Teacher MeetingsMeetings will take place in the January 2018. In keeping with updates in our Child Protection Policy all parents and visitors are required to sign register. Any parent wishing to meet their child’s class teacher before then is required to make an appointment with the school secretary with a short statement as to the nature of the meeting.

WELL DONE…Cumann na mBunscolCongratulations to the boy’s football team on getting to the county final! A fantastic achievement for all involved.

Used Clothing Collection Thank you to all of you who donated bags of clothes towards the clothes drive (704kg collected this collection).

Parents Association Halloween Cake Sale & RaffleWe say well done and “THANK YOU” to our active Parents Association. Their annual Halloween Cake Sale raised over €600, it was a huge success. Thanks to Edel O'Shaughnessy for raffling one of her delicious cakes. Congrats to Matthew Punch, 3rd Class who was the lucky winner.

PLEASE NOTE:Little Acorns PlayschoolLittle Acorns have constructed a play area for the children of the playschool. Children are not allowed onto or into the play area unless under strict supervision during school hours. CHILDREN ARE NOT ALLOWED ON OR IN THE SCHOOL PLAYGROUND AFTER SCHOOL HOURS.

SCHOOL ACTIVITES

Indoor Hurling LeagueThe Indoor Hurling League will commence in the coming weeks for 3rd-6th class. It will run every Tuesday in the school hall from 2.30-3pm (Homework Club pupils will go straight to Homework Club after match). Indoor hurleys will be provided, pupils involved just need their helmets and a drink. We will update weekly results on noticeboard.

Swimming Swimming continues in the Shannon Leisure Centre. Mrs McCarthy’s class of 2nd and 3rd from Wednesday, 8th November at 9am, €3.50 per child per class. Parental support welcome.

ChoirThe School Choir have been invited to perform a medley at the forthcoming Christmas Market. Practice will begin Thursday, Nov. 16th from 2:30 – 3:00pm

REMINDERS…Healthy LunchesPlease keep up your good work in providing healthy lunches. Remember crisps, chewing gum and fizzy drinks are never allowed. We urge all children to make a special effort for November.

Christmas AnnualsChristmas Annuals will be on sale again this year. Orders will be taken during November.
