When I think of Human Services, the word hope comes to mind. I took this picture because I thought it was a good representation of hope through Human Services. Although the day at the beach is dark and gloomy, the sun is hopeful still shining through the darkness. This relates to how I define Human Services because in the darkest of days where people go through struggles, speed bumps, and barriers there will always be hope and ways to overcome obstacles. The sun is the hope that this world has even through the sad lonely times. The tide was also coming in and out and that is a representation of how things can alter and change, but the sun still shines down no matter what changes happen. Hope will always be here.

There are a lot of important qualities and attributes to have as a Human Service professional, but one that comes to mind right away is trust. Trust is vital when working with or for people. As a Human Service professional your client turns to you for support and trust during the struggles they face. This photo represents a trust fall, and also can represent support. Trust and support are key components and the foundation in the service of others that helps you create relationships, bonds, and a strong structure for the betterment of others. Without the main foundation of trust, not a lot of relationship building is possible.
