The assessment will involve a tour and evaluation of part of Sitka’s award winning pedestrian and bicycle facilities. This assessment will also be a great opportunity to network with local, State, and Federal practitioners involved in safety, design and projects involving bicyclists and pedestrians both regionally and statewide. We will begin the assessment by meeting at the Sitka National Historic Park at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 7 th . A short introduction and briefing will be conducted followed by a walking assessment from the park to Harrington Centennial Hall along the Sitka Sea-walk. Participants will be asked to complete an easy assessment form for the walking segment.

Participants will then have the option to cycle from Harrington Centennial Hall along Harbor Road and Lincoln Street to the roundabout and out Halibut Point Road to SeaMart / Pioneer

If needed, rental bicycle are available for $25/day through Yellow Jersey Cycle Shop (907-747-6317) located at 329 Harbor Drive, very close to Harrington Centennial Hall. Reserving a bicycle in advance is recommended.
