The first standard welding procedure specifications for on-site welding

Kemppi is the first welding machine manufacturer in the world to introduce MMA standard WPSs for hedemanding and constantly changing environments of construction sites, where there is a strong need for clear and simple instructions.

Quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness – all based on ISO 3834-2

ArcQuality and the standard welding procedure specifications are complemented by ArcValidator, a new validation tool for welding machines, and ArcInfo, which makes the analysis of welding parameters easier and more illustrative.

Younger welders will be equally impressed by the unique electronic learning environment based on ArcQuality and ProTrainer.

The solid foundation for all of this is the ISO 3834-2 certification and Kemppi’s welding operations have been granted ISO 3834-2 certification as the first welding equipment manufacturer in the world.

This means that Kemppi is the only manufacturer licenced to develop standard WPSs independently. It makes our services fast and fluent, and it also is a clear testimony to proven practices and solid development that make Kemppi the right partner for the welding industry.

The first standard welding procedure specifications for on-site welding

From 1 July 2014, all structural steel and aluminium products must be CE marked, as stated in the Construction Products Regulation (CPR). This will bring great change in the life of workshops manufacturing construction products, because each of them must then be certified in accordance with EN 1090-2, which states that all welding activities have to be in compliance with EN ISO 3834, ‘Quality Requirements for Fusion Welding of Metallic Materials’.

A comprehensive solution for workshop and on-site work

To meet the requirements of the EN 1090-2 standard, we off er standard WPS packages for workshop and project-site use. These WPSs apply to both MIG/MAG and MMA welding. Kemppi is the fi rst welding machine manufacturer in the world to introduce WPSs for the demanding and constantly changing environments of construction sites, where there is a strong need for clear and simple instructions.

Standard WPSs for MIG/MAG welding in workshops

If you’ve bought a FastMig Pulse or FastMig X 450 welding machine or plan to do so, you can purchase a standard Kemppi WPS package for it, containing 16 WPSs, which also cover pulsed welding. The standard welding procedure specifi cations comply in full with EN ISO 15612 and can be used for steels in strength classes up to 355 MPA in manual welding of structures in execution classes EXC1 and EXC2.

Always compatible WPSs for MMA welding on work sites

Kemppi’s standard WPS package for MMA welding is based on customer needs. It contains all necessary welding procedure specifi cations, compatible with all MMA welding machines, in easily understandable format. If there are no impact strength requirements, these WPSs can be used with fi ller materials of class EN ISO 2560-A E 42 4 B 42 H5. When an impact-strength requirement is set, these WPSs can be used with the following fi ller materials: Esab OK 48.00, Böhler FOX EV 50, and Elga P48 S.

Used in combination with MXP wire feeders, it forms a welding system that easily meets every welding need and the quality management requirements of any metal fabrication workshop. Master S 400/500Master S 400/500 is a robust, portable solution for MMA welding at workshop or site. Welding characteristics suit all electrode types, off ering a versatile machine for high-quality welding anywhere. The control panel display, functions and symbols, are large and clear, making setting and adjustment simple with gloved hands. Only those functions required in daily use are presented to the welder.

The modest size of Master S 400/500 disguises a power house of MMA welding power, off ering significant welding capacity at 400A 60% ED, allowing for use with extra long power supply and welding cables sets, and making the machine ideal for use on large construction sites.
