JENNA MARIE CISNEROS

Being in the class of 2013, having come to the last and final hours, as well as being in full possession of facilities, I feel it is incumbent upon I to say a few words to our heirs concerning the long years which we have passed together happily…..

Mellophones- I leave you the new king mellophones that play beautifully that I never got the chance to march. You guys better continue to be loud and the best brass section. Also remember, when called out never blame Mario. I promise it’s not his fault. Hype rehearsal and make the best out of it. I also leave you with the tradition of making tie-dye section shirts… and don’t forget to make me one.

Mario- I leave you a nice mellophone so you never have to touch/march the ugly one with the ratchet first valve held together by a band-aid again.

LEELEEEE…Liana Hoffman- I leave you my Hammond mello mouthpiece. It’s actually perfect like you. You’ll put it in good use.

Brass Players- I leave you my horn polish… no one likes dirty horns. Ew.

Woodwinds- I leave you all a plethora of brass instruments so you can learn them and march Drum Corps.

Trumpets- I leave you good posture for marching band. I also leave you a jazz trumpet section because you’re only left with Andie. (Love you andie)

Andie- I leave you the lead chops I currently do not have. I also leave you without braces because it sucks playing high with braces.

Tubas- I leave you lungs and more people so you can play louder :P

Rachel Komroff- I leave you a new person to walk with to class from 3rd to 4th hour.

Page 6: cshsmusic.orgcshsmusic.org/wordpress/wp-content/.../2013/06/2012-2…  · Web viewI leave you all my solos! # Chloe: I leave you artistic skills to help draw future plate awards

Ryan “Biggie Smallz” Milrad- I leave you my Teal Sound lanyard that you’re obsessed with. I leave you a new seat partner for away games. I leave you perfect straight legs so you’ll have the complete package for your next DCI audition.

Ms. Hinkes- I leave you my iMovie editing skills so you can make the band video next year

Mr. Dawson- I leave you with my sincere appreciation of everything you have taught me over the past four years. For allowing me to switch to brass after I would constantly beg/annoy you about it, and dealing with my obnoxious instrument switches throughout the years. I cannot thank you enough for all the time you put in this program and being such a positive inspiring influence on all of us. Love you Daddy D <3

To the future Guard Captain: I leave you with a folder full of charts, banners, handouts so when in doubt check it out. (LOL THAT WAS TERRIBLE)

To Jennifer Shaktman: My partner in crime!! Obviously I’m not leaving anything but a phone number because you’re leaving me! I loved these 4 years of Color Guard with you but specially these 3 years of leadership with you. I’m very proud on what we’ve accomplished in this program because I know how hard we both worked to always do what’s best for everyone. I’m so lucky to have had you around; you are so caring and thoughtful and couldn’t have been a better partner throughout this journey in high school. Thank you so much for teaching me SO much; I love you like a chonga loves their hoop earnings!

To Carmen Leung: My Asian! Literally always have been there for me and that’s hard to say about a person. Since freshman year I remember to always go to you for help. You always had patience and always understood me, not just in Guard problems but life decisions too. You have taught me so much, and being around you makes me want to be a better person, you give me hope to do things I think I can’t do. You are a great person and a great part of my life. I really don’t want to lose communication between us so please put math homework down for me every now and then so we can talk! I love you, thank you so much for everything!

To ALL my Guard girls: I’m so proud of every one of you! Even though it may seem like I don’t feel that way sometimes there’s a reason! I loved being able to be a leader in this program because I knew that every one of you can be better than you think you are, you just have to have someone believe in you and I believed in every one of you. Seeing the progress and the smile in your faces made everything so worth it! Yeah, it could be very stressful at times but like I said YOU ALL MAKE IT WORTH IT! And the future captain will witness that! You guys have taught me so much; skills that I will forever use in my life. I hope that you all enjoyed these years with me and will enjoy the rest of your high school years too! Thank you so much for the friendship and the life lesson.

Before I leave you young'ins with my inevitable departure, there are a few things I wish to say.

Keeping this short and sweet, Colt Band, you are my rock. It's hard to believe that after four years of participating in something that it can suddenly end. That's the future on the horizon, guys, and it's something we must all face. After four successful years in a program that has ultimately molded me into the character I am today, I can proudly, and sadly, say it will soon be my time to move on past this big blue box and into the realms of adulthood, of which all of you will have to face at some point in the near future. Enjoy the time you have with this program. It goes by faster than you think, and I know there are days when you just aren't feeling the rehearsal atmosphere. Push through it. You'll thank me later.

There is so much I wish to say to every single one of you, but not enough words, time, or paper to express it, so here's what you've all been wanting to read. Hence the point of this will:

Julia Murphy- I leave you the horsy farm that we talked about having when we were twelve. It is there in which you will feeded dem and then you will play wiff dem and den dey will have babies and den dey will die. But den you get new horsies and repeat the process. I figured you could put them in your backyard, but Atlantis decided to inhabit it, so that plan went out the window. But it's okay, we still have big fluffy pillows.

Samuel Hinkes- I leave you Charles Fedderwitz. I hope one day you will develop a goofy and playful relationship so that neither of you get bored during rehearsals.

Charles Fedderwitz- I leave you Samuel Hinkes. Watch him, learn from him. You will do great things.

Drum Major Wannabees: Christian, Ryan, Michael, Renee, Sebastian, Ian- I don't know where all of you will end up, but I'm proud of you all. I was extremely impressed with all of your auditions. So. To whoever prevails, I leave you the podium. I leave you patience. I leave you my tears of what has been accomplished. I leave you the perseverance to push through even the hardest of times. I leave you the thrill of performing and leading something to greatness. Use it well.

Dominic Donovan- I leave you a sense of humility. It's okay to be confident, but when you're wrong, admit it. I leave you Jared Barreto's phone number. Use it to your advantage. Don't forget, he plays tuba and was in your position not too long ago. I leave you the confidence to ditch Ritter's while you can and to tell Dennis everything we've always wanted to. I leave you a gym membership that actually works, so we won't get kicked out. Last but not least, I leave you better music that you can sing to me and I'll actually know the lyrics. Enough of your ratchet nonsense.

Kelly Hazell- I leave you my seat in Senora Raposo's class, since it's at her desk and I know you're basically obsessed with her. I also leave you my Statistics notebook. Which contains nothing. So here's a blank notebook.

Page 9: cshsmusic.orgcshsmusic.org/wordpress/wp-content/.../2013/06/2012-2…  · Web viewI leave you all my solos! # Chloe: I leave you artistic skills to help draw future plate awards

Joseph Delgado, Michael Argent, Sebastian Dones, Axel Cruz- I leave you accuracy. And a metronome. And a tuner. That is all.

Jospeh Delgado- Yes, I purposely spelled your name Jospeh. I leave you an imaginary mute that doesn't exist because there's no such thing as a mute for saxophone. I also leave two other players that can receive a Grade 5 trio three days before District Solo and Ensemble and still manage to pull off an Excellent at State.

Rachel Eddins- I leave you another person to hang out with you in Spanish, even though I left you halfway through the year. I leave you someone to confide in and someone whose love life basically parallels yours.

Patrick Cerri, Heather Tammy, Jonathan Fox- I leave you my proficiency at baritone! I know you all missed me when I left. You all could use some of my last chair talent.

Rachel Komroff- I give you strength. I know things seem hard at this age, like it's never going to get better, but it will. Life goes on past freshman year. I also leave you a car so you can make up for all the times I drove you home by taking my sister home since, let's be honest, I'm not going to pick her up.

Ryan Milrad- I leave you a life beyond drum corps. There are other things besides it, and I would hope you use the talents you've been given wisely. I also give you a plethora of McDonald's chicken nuggets and barbecue sauce, and a Youth Pride Band that isn't full of weirdos. That's something I will definitely miss.

Lauren Adams- I leave you sanity. You may think you're not insane, but trust me, sanity is relative nowadays. We are all a little bit insane. Times get hard, but they're met by better ones, trust me. If anyone understands the way your mind works sometimes it's me. Come back to me, mama, it's almost easy.

Andrea Gattuso- I leave you my legacy, whatever there is of it. I'm so proud of you, little sister, and I can't wait to see what you grow to be not only as a person, but as a musician and a leader. Create your own legacy, through the school and the program and watch where you end up. Your talent holds no boundaries, use that to your advantage and thrive. I love you!

I love each and every one of you. You definitely made my senior year worthwhile in everything that we accomplished.

Remember how I always told you all to have a performance that would make me cry?You all have succeeded.

I am so proud of all of you. Thank you for everything.

The Last Will and Testament of Sir Jacob Hochman

Emperor of the Kingdom of Coral Springs

-To King Marco: I leave you my Kingdom. Rule it as you please. However, make sure to keep the peasants in line (i.e. non Percussion). Make sure they know who rules the land and never to question your judgment. Also, learn the art of Bop. It will help you to please Lord Dawson in Jazz.

-Archduke Joshua: I leave you my swagger and Jimmy’s tenor drums (so long that Grand Duke Andres allows it). Calm down a little and you’ll be golden. I love you and your spazziness.

-Madam Lauren: I leave to you my centership. Use it wisely; keep the time and the peace. I also leave to you Stickalibur. It is trapped inside a block of permafrost to help cool you down. Don’t take everything so seriously, chill out a little and you’ll be in a whole new world. In and out of music.

-Madam Robin: I leave to you my bass drum. Yes, it was still mine these last 3 years.

-Princess Rany: Rule to land well with Marco. Don’t let the peasants get on your nerves too much. Have fun with young Alison. Teach her well.

Page 16: cshsmusic.orgcshsmusic.org/wordpress/wp-content/.../2013/06/2012-2…  · Web viewI leave you all my solos! # Chloe: I leave you artistic skills to help draw future plate awards

-Madam Alex: I leave you the pit. Rule it well.

-Duke Ryan: I leave you the Band Kingdom and all that inhabit it. And my impeccable sense of time.

-To the Land of Pit: I leave you Alex Reccasina. You’re welcome.

-To the Land of Drums: I leave you our drums. Have fun.

-To the Band Kingdom: I leave you Lord Dawson. To rip up the Jazz world with his amazing trombone skills and the will power to lead you all through another year.

-To a new inhibitor of the Land of Drums: I leave you my name. Cheese, have a nice four years.

-To the Royal Senior Class: Let you live on knowing that you had the privilege of spending the last four years basking in my greatness.

-To Lord Dawson, the Jazziest Trombonist to ever live: I’m sorry for being a pain these last four years. You have been a fantastic teacher (especially when it comes to Jazz). I respect you more than you know. Keep being a fantastic leader and take the band up to the top.

In all seriousness however, the last four years have been fantastic. Music has always been a passion of mine and being able to participate in a program with such dedicated and devoted participants and parents. This has been an incredible senior year with everything that we have accomplished. I hope to see the program continue to grow and flourish in the years to come.

Everyone, don’t take the time you have for granted. Enjoy it and give it your all. You don’t want to have regrets. I love you all. It’s been nice.

See you guys this summer.
