Amazing Architecture Around the World Name:__________________ FUTURA Day: M T W TH F Directions: This project focuses on a wide range of amazing architecture around the world including skyscrapers, towers, dams, monuments, tunnels, and more. Students will work in pairs (Collaborating) using “The Big 6” research steps (Researching) to learn about one of the structures listed below. Students will be asked to locate this structure on a world map, indicate when it was constructed on a timeline, create an informational brochure (Communicating and Explaining Connections), and construct a 3D model (Creative Thinking). The brochure will include a title, student names, a bibliography, important information, and may contain original artwork or printed photos. The 3D model should fit inside a shoebox and should be an original design (no kits permitted). Students are encouraged to use “treasures from the trash” (common discards from the kitchen or workshop). Additionally, students will need to manage time wisely and pursue the challenge presented in an effort to produce high quality work on this project. Students will assess themselves and be assessed by the teacher on their process and products.
