Since starting my degree in Crawford College of Art and Design, I feel I have the opportunity to explore my ideas fully and gain valuable knowledge that would be relevant to this job. I am a hard working, creative individual. Also I have done Communications at level 5 and level 6 NFQ I would consider myself a great communicator.

Artist’s statement:

My paintings explore the idea of a majestic ideal world of serenity and beauty. The nude represents female strength, the water symbolising abudance, regeneration and grace. I focus on the fluidity and movement of water, taking into account Heraclitus, the Greek philospher’s views that the river remains the same but its material composition changes as different water flows through it. I want my colours to appear rich and intense to give a sense of well-being and mystery. I found inspiration from Monet’s waterlillies and also Esther teichmann’s photographs of water reflections. I also looked at the artists William Turner and Peter Doig.
