Met Film School – 2 Year Degree

The Met Film School is London's leading provider of practical filmmaking courses, based in Ealing Studios. Course Overview BA (Hons) Practical Filmmaking is designed for students who want an intensive, two-year study of practical filmmaking. Students can choose from a selection of elements within a module. At the end of your programme you will receive one of three awards, which will reflect the options you have chosen. These awards are: 

- BA (Hons) Practical Filmmaking - BA (Hons) Film, Visual Effects & Animation- BA (Hons) Film & Digital Cinematography 

During the programme you will gain a comprehensive range of practical production skills that focus on creative development, writing, directing, production and editing. In addition, you will develop an understanding of film history, movements and style. Through your enhanced understanding of film you will acquire essential critical analysis skills and a thorough appreciation of contemporary industry practice.

Course Overview One-Year (Cert HE) Cinematography is designed to provide intensive practical and theoretical training in cinematography for both film and television. You will work alongside industry professionals and with the latest technologies to develop your expertise and knowledge in this discipline.  By the end of our One-Year (Cert HE) Cinematography course you will understand the role of cinematography and the basic technical and scientific principles behind the craft. Throughout this programme you will gain experience in a wide range of fields across camera, lighting and grip departments. You will learn to shoot on Super 16 and 35mm film as well as on digital cinema, tape and tapeless camera systems, including RED, D20, Si2K, F950, F750, JVC HM700. You will leave equipped with the skills required to confidently enter the industry, fulfilling roles ranging from Director of Photography, Camera Assistant, Focus Puller, Clapper Loader, Grip, Gaffer and many others to an expert standard.
