Year Five Home Learning Planner WC: 6 th April 2020 Maths Maths Mystery. This week the emphasis is on having fun. I’ve found an Easter maths mystery and some ‘3d nets’ work. You can start by using the cube net to create an Easter basket in cube form. Next create 3d shapes from the other nets and perhaps decorate these in an Easter theme. Really take time to look at the flat nets so you could recognise them if asked to name the 3d shape they belong to. Revision: Times Tables Rock Stars. After many arguments with the laptop, we’re all registered with Times Table Rockstars again. Email me on the address at the bottom of the page to get your personal login. Computing Watch the following video on YouTube. It will give you an understanding of the origins of Easter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-M8Yesnt1V8 You will notice that this was a Lego ‘Stop Motion’ film. If you can (not all will be able) why not download the free app ‘Stop Motion’ and make your own stop motion animation. You can retell the Easter story if you wish however feel free to choose your own theme. Anyone with Lego, action figures or Stikbot accessories will find this task easier. Those of you with younger siblings…get the playdough or plasticine out. Email any finished videos to me so I can post them on the site. English Creative Writing Challenge. Use all the skills in your creative writing toolkit (stuff you’ve learned) to write a scene that explains what’s happening in the attached images. '

Maths Maths Mystery.This week the emphasis is on having fun. I’ve found an Easter maths mystery and some ‘3d nets’ work. You can start by using the cube net to create an Easter basket in cube form.
