MACC/MTAX GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIPS FALL 2016 The Accountancy Programs Office invites applications for graduate assistantships from part-time and full-time students for the Fall 2016 semester. One of the requirements is to assist a faculty member/administrator for a period of 60 hours during the semester. The Student Accounts Office will credit $2,000 towards tuition. Assistantship awards do not cover fees, books, and other expenses. The assistantship will consist of assisting a faculty member or administrator with research, teaching, administrative, and other professional activities. It is possible to receive one assistantship per semester but no more than two during the course of your program. Assistantships are awarded on a semester-by-semester basis with no automatic renewal . Each application will be judged on its own merits without reference to previous applications submitted. To be eligible for an assistantship, the applicant must be enrolled in the MACC/MTAX program and in good standing with the university. Assistantship awards will be based upon the following criteria: 1. Potential for assisting faculty member/administrator in his or her research and other professional activities. 2. Potential and demonstrated high scholastic performance in the MACC/MTAX program. 3 Students must be enrolled in six or more units of graduate business courses for one assistantship. 4. Graduate assistants are expected to be able to meet with their assigned faculty member/administrator during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m). Please do not apply if your activities prevent you from being able to comply with this expectation. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The application form is attached.
