We will be finishing up Story 21, “Gloria Who Might Be My Best Friend.” This story is a

realistic fiction story. Students will be spelling words that are homophones and have a base word with the ending –er and –est. We will

continue to practice understanding characters and figurative language. In Grammar,

students will be using adjectives.

In Social Studies, students will be working on a project reviewing the

different types of landforms.

ROOM 3 BUZZ

Math We will be finishing up Chapter 11,”Geometry and Fractions.”

Students will be finding a half of, third of, or a fourth of a whole. Also, they

will be drawing a diagram to help them when solving problems about equal

shares. On Wednesday, we will review the concepts presented in Chapter 11.

The Chapter 11 Math Test is Thursday, May 24 th !

In Reading, the students took the Reading Test for Story 21, “Penguin Chick.” Check their green graded folders for the results. Also, they started Story 22, “ Gloria Who Might Be My Best Friend.”

In Math, the students identified angles in two-dimensional shapes. Also, they sorted two-dimensional shapes.
