Dear 3.E.O. Family,We made it through

our first 3 days of school! I have had so much fun getting to know your kiddos. I can honestly say that I have an amazing group of kids and I am one lucky teacher! We spent this week going through daily procedures, getting organized, and doing some fun activities. We jumped right into the curriculum yesterday and the kids did a great job! Even though we are all exhausted, I cannot wait to see them on Monday! Thank you so much for allowing me to spend my days with your children. I hope you have a weekend filled with joy!

Reminders Spirit wear order

Picture forms went home. Picture day is August 27th!

Curriculum night is September 3rd.

Our IMC day is Thursday. Please make sure your child brings his/her books back on Thursdays!

Looking Ahead…

Math- We began unit 1 today!

Reading-We talked about choosing “just right books” and picked books from the classroom library. We are going to jump right into reader’s workshop next week. We will work on building our stamina and learning how to respond to reading in our response journals.

Writing- We started talking about why writers write today. We will start learning about the writing process next week!

Spelling-We will take our beginning of the year assessment next week and we will start our word sorts!

Science- We started talking about butterflies today! We are going to learn so much about butterflies over the next few weeks. I am going to bring in my milkweed and eggs next week and we look forward to watching the life cycle process!

Social Studies-We will begin some basic map skills next week!
