Let’s learn some new vocabulary – Subtraction.
To subtract is to “take away” from a whole number.
Using the vocab sheet provided and some cubes practically subtract/minus/take away/show less from a larger group. Encourage your child by using all the new vocab. For example “here is 10 cubes can you show me less?”, “I have a lot of cubes, subtract some”. Alloy your child to ask you the same types of questions and familiarise themselves with the vocabulary.

PSHESometimes it is nice to have 5 minutes to stop and think about how we feel. We do a lot every day and it can sometimes be overwhelming, exciting, hard, enjoyable and stressful.
Support your child in the 5 minute breathing activity. Discuss the benefits of slowing down and how we can use this technique on a day to day basis when things get too much.
