Why is this so important to followers of Christ?*Everything we purport is truth is from God’s Word the Bible. If we can explain parts of it away as just symbolic ( especially Gen 1) then why could someone not argue that the entire thing is symbolic? For Example, if Genesis is just symbolic, then Adam and Eve were just symbolic, then the fall of man into sin is just symbolic, then we don’t really need a real savior.*Also, without a spinning globe in outer space, there can be no big bang, thus no evolution, and thus pointing to a Creator!!!

There are many, many scriptures that imply that the Earth is a flat enclosed plane set on pillars. There are none that imply we are on a ball flying through infinite space, not even as poetry.

The real question is: Do you view the world through the lens of Biblical Truth, or do you view the Bible through the lens of the currently accepted views of “science”?

Do you try to twist and explain what the Bible clearly says to make it match a spinning ball in space? How many verses can you do that with before you have totally undermined the authority of scripture?
