How to set up your virgin money giving fundraising page

To make life and fundraising a little easier, COSMIC has created a step by step manual on how to start up your Virgin Money Giving page.

Step 1: Firsly, type www.virginmoneygiving.com into your web browser

Click onto Create your page under the Start fundraising section

If you will be taking part in an organised event such as the Virgin London Marathon, Bupa 10km, Great North Run or the London Triathlon then click on Organised Event

If you are taking part in an event by yourself, organised by yourself or that can occur many times during the year (parachute or sky dive) then click on Personal Challenge and skip to step 5 on these instructions

Type in the name, date and/or location of the event you want to partake in and select it from the list that appears

If your event has not been entered into the system then it will not appear in the list. If this is the case, you have to tick this box and click on next

Select the type of challenge

Select the location of the event

Add in the date of the challenge

Choose how long you would like your fundraising page to stay open for after the event. We recommend about 3 months as this gives a good time to collect all of your sponsorship

Finally, select if you are taking part by yourself or with a team and then click next

Step 7: You will then be asked to set up a Virginmoneygiving account so that you are able to log in and add any offline money you have received, as well as editing your profile page

Step 8: Once all registered, you can create your very own unique web address – this is the address you will send out to all of your friends, family and colleagues so they sponsor you on your page

Add in your next. It helps raise more money if you set a target for people to help you reach it.

If you have previously used the Virgin Money Giving website then simply sign into your account

If this is your first time using the site, you will have to register. Click on the register button and follow their instructions

Step 9: Personalise your page with your story and some photos. You can also link the page onto your Facebook Account and/or Twitter. You can always make changes to your page!

Step 10: Your unique web page has now been created and you can send out to anyone you would like to sponsor your challenge. They can read your story and donate using their debit or credit cards. All transactions are secure and go straight into COSMIC’s account.
