Three Trees Yoga & Healing Arts Center’s RYT 200 –Hour Teacher Training and In-depth Studies Program is designed for those seeking to become yoga teachers as well as for those who desire to deepen their own yoga practice.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of teaching a comprehensive Hatha yoga practice including alignment-based asana; pranayama; meditation; anatomy and physiology specific to teaching yoga; a study of the Chakras; Ayurveda (the sister science of yoga); and yogic philosophy as described in the Yoga Sutras of Pantanjali and the Bhagadvad Gita. Additionally, emphasis will be placed on the techniques of teaching, including use of voice and body language; learning to observe bodies, modify poses and sequence classes with ample time allotted to “practice teaching” throughout the program. Participants will also learn the business side of teaching yoga so that they will emerge confident and ready to start teaching after graduation if they desire.

Five Top Reasons for Our Program’s Success:1. Our faculty: All five of our instructors are leaders in their field with

many years of training and experience. They are passionate about what they have chosen as their life path and are eager to share it with you. Having five different voices gives you a balanced, informed exposure to yoga. Their depth of knowledge and enthusiasm will inspire you.

2. Our facilities: Three Trees Yoga and Good Karma Center for Joy are both fully appointed studios that are clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Just being in the practice rooms will motivate you. You’ll love the added bonus of spending a retreat weekend at Harmony Hill on the Hood Canal in November.

3. Our curriculum: Our program has been carefully designed to introduce you to the whole of yoga, allowing you to dive deeply into the practice you love. We have woven the week ends in such a way that the various topics support and enrich each other. For example, on the weekend you learn about the core, you’ll also explore mula bandha (root lock) and the root chakra. Although the weekends are very full, we schedule the training days so that there is time for movement and lecture as well as stillness and rest. Our goal is that you feel inspired and excited by the material, but not depleted.

4. Our schedule: We have found that we personally learn and absorb best when we have time to practice and digest new material before adding more. For this reason we chose the 9 weekends (in ten months) model rather than a more intense, condensed schedule. Our past participants have found that creating new habits over a ten month period was transformational.

5. Your future: Whether you want to deepen your own practice and understanding of yoga or to actually teach, we will help guide you. Work Well NW is a subsidiary of Three Trees Yoga that is committed to bringing yoga and meditation to the workplace and as an added result may offer teaching opportunities for graduates of Three Trees Yoga Teacher Training Program. Although employment is not guaranteed, a strong effort will be made to help you achieve this goal if desired. Our graduates currently teach in studios, schools, wellness facilities, fire stations, hospitals and corporate environments. http://workwellnw.com/

Leave of Absence:

10

Page 10:  · Web viewThree Trees Yoga & Healing Arts Center’s RYT 200 –Hour Teacher Training and In-depth Studies Program is designed for those seeking to become yoga teachers as well

Students who need to miss more than 2 weekends may be granted a leave of absence upon request. The following guidelines must be used:

1. The request for a leave of absence must be submitted to the school in writing stating the reason(s) for the leave of absence.

2. The request must have the date that the student will begin the leave.3. The student may re-enroll in the next program year and receive credit

for the weekends that they have already completed. If the student cannot re-enroll the following year, he/she will waive the credit for the weekends they have already completed and need to start over from the beginning of the program.

4. Refunds will be issued according to the terms of our refund policy. See page 15-16.

Make-up Work:Weekend trainings and/or assignments missed due to absences must be made-up within one month of the missed classes or assignments. Private make-up sessions are subject to the availability of the instructors and should be scheduled as soon as possible following a missed weekend. Students should contact their assigned advisor/mentor to get missed assignments and contact teachers directly to schedule their private make-up sessions. Students will be charged $75 per hour for the private sessions. When applicable, the student may request to wait until the missed lesson is offered the following year at no extra charge. However, the student needs to be aware that this will change their completion date. The student will need permission from the school directors for a change in completion date. This may result in a contract amendment.

Tardiness:Developing good work ethics is an important part of the training at Three Trees Yoga Teacher Training & Intensive. Students arriving late for class are interrupting the instructor and other students. Please make an effort to be on time. Chronic tardiness may result in the need to meet with an instructor in a private session to make-up missed work at the rate of $75 per hour.

Code of Conduct:The following conduct is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Any and all may result in immediate termination of the student without a refund.

Students receiving scores that are below 75 percent demonstrate an insufficient understanding of the information presented and will be offered a second chance to complete the exam with a higher score. Other methods of evaluation will include peer and instructor skill evaluation and an assessment of the completed homework and final project required by the instructors.

If the school closes prior to that time, records will be forwarded to the Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board. Upon graduation, each student will be given a copy of his or her transcript. These records should be maintained indefinitely by the student. Students may request copies by writing the school. Student records are available for review by the student at any time.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:Should the student’s enrollment be terminated or should the student withdraw for any reason, all refunds will be made according to the following refund schedule.

1. The school will refund all money paid if the applicant is not accepted. This includes instances where a starting class is canceled by the school.

2. The school will refund all money paid if the applicant cancels within five business days (excluding Sundays and holidays) after the day the contract is signed or an initial payment is made, as long as the applicant has not begun training.
