Dear Central High School Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

We have nearly completed week six of online teaching and learning. Grades post again this Friday, so I encourage you to check grades through ParentVue/StudentVue after 4 p.m. As a reminder, students will earn credit and grades will be final for Quarter 1 on October 2nd. As a result, we are encouraging students to take advantage of our many academic support services that Central has to offer.

To begin with, Saturday School is offered virtually and began last month. If students want additional support with a class, there is a sign up process, but please note that not all teachers offer Saturday School. If tutoring is needed, students can take advantage of tutoring time which occurs after school daily. Arrangements should be made with the individual teacher for both Saturday School and/or after school tutoring. The upcoming Saturday School dates for Quarters 1 and 2 are as follows: 9/19, 9/26, 10/31, 11/21 and 12/5.

In addition to Saturday School, students can sign up for tutoring in Math, Science and English through our Suns Central Tutoring Program using this link or by contacting Mr. Gene Silva at gsilva@phoenixunion.org. We have been a proud partner of the Phoenix Suns for many years and continue to provide free tutoring to our students. Tutoring is available from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Students who have logged at least 10 hours are acknowledged during our Suns Central Incentive Days where prizes are given to students quarterly. This occurs after quarter 1, 2 and 3 are complete. Invites to these event will be sent to students that meet this criteria.

and the Microsoft Edge as your browser for classwork Teams (not your cell phone).

4. Attend all of your Teams classes on time, participate in class and ask questions.

5. Check your grade in Student Vue every day.6. If you notice a low grade or do not understand

the assignment, use the Chat in Teams to message your teacher.
