PRESS RELEASE 11 th February 2014 Summit of Mount Phongun Razi – Andrew Knight Mountain Kingdoms scales new heights in Burma! Mountain Kingdoms has conquered Burma’s Mount Phongun Razi. 11 trekkers have reached the top of the 3,635m /11,926ft Burmese ice mountain. Mountain Kingdoms are experts in trekking in the Himalayas and across the world, but this is the first time we’ve taken clients to climb a mountain in Burma! The groups were some of the first westerners to experience a trek in northern Burma, an area which has only recently opened up to foreign visitors. They trekked through pristine jungle and along rocky outcrops to reach snow-capped Mount Phongun Razi, affording stunning views of the surrounding eastern Himalaya. Here’s what some of the intrepid group had to say: “The holiday was excellent and the guide, cook and porters on the trek went out of their way to make sure our every need was catered for. The care, attention and food were excellent.” - Ms D, Hampshire
